Tartalmi összefoglaló angol nyelven

• We shall revisit our rules on labour and personnel matters to update our job descriptions. • We shall evolve a stronger economics group to handle the financial aspects of operations and introduce computerised accounting and inventories, similar to our salary accounting system. Collections-Related Work • We shall thoroughly clean our storage facilities, and see that they are completely painted (cellars at the No. 5 and Csepel post offices, warehouse on Paulay Ede Street, Budapest), and install peaked roofs where needed at our container storage facility on Gyáli Avenue (Budapest). • Our curators shall plan and supervise an examination of the artefacts in storage, and perform the measures necessary for conservation or restoration. (We foresee that approximately 10% or 1,100 items in our artefact collection need to be restored, principally requiring the skills of experts in metal and wood restoration.) • Our curators have begun preparing lists of artefacts and documents of particular historical importance that are relevant to each of our collections but which we do not have. (These lists will form the backbone of targeted collection.) Scientific Operations • With our 2001 yearbook, we will begin publication of the historical documents in the Postal and Stamp Museums. • We plan to process the materials in a CD-ROM called 120 Years of Telephony in a manner suitable for editing, based on the artefacts and documents in our collection. • We will pull together the archived materials on József Hollós, Endre Kolossváry, Endre Magyari, Béla Marschalkó, Tihamér Nemes, Bernát Paskay, Iván Tomits, BélaTom- csányi, István Tomcsányi, and János Zakariás for inclusion in a series of booklets called In the Service of Hungarian Telecommunications. Exhibitions • A new permanent exhibition in Hollókő (NE Hungary) called “Palócland” Postal History is being designed by the Stamp Museum and the Postal Museum which are working together on the project. It will include maps, stamps, picture-postcards, post- office issued postcards, and rubber stamps that portray this historical region. • The Stamp Museum is organising an exhibition of the oeuvre of graphic artist Pál Varga. • The Postal Museum is organising a temporary (month long) exhibition of its display 1,000 Years of Hungary as a Nation, Reflected in Telecommunications. It will go on show in the museum auditorium when it returns from its yearlong travel throughout the country, and the museum will then present the material to the postal memorial house at Szanticska (NE Hungary). 213
