Be sure to check William Penn Life for updates on all our activities. We wish our Branch 14 student members continued success as the school year ends. Congratulations to Matt Ujevich for his success at the WPA bowling tournament, winning $200 for first place in men's individual scoring. Matt was a recipient of a WPFA Scholarship this past year. Matt, we hope you had fun, and we look forward to seeing you next year and having other scholarship winners take part. As your children grow into young adults, their juvenile insurance policies can be converted into adult life policies when they reach age 25. Just because they are becoming a young adult doesn't mean their insurance needs end. Converting their juvenile policies will ensure them of continued WPA coverage into their adult years, and they can continue to enjoy the fraternal benefits that come with membership, including full eligibility and participation in our fraternal functions. The officers of Branch 14 extend our sympathy to those members who have recently lost a loved one. May they rest in peace. Our deepest sympathy goes to the family of Ernest J. Raymond, former officer of Branch 14, who passed away on April 27,2014. Ernie was a veteran and a retired employee of the State of Ohio Department of Transportation. May he rest in peace. Get well wishes go to all members who might be feeling under the weather, including; Branch 14 members Charles Hartman (who is walking better), Joe Volter and the Rev. Peter Toth; and WPA members Anna Kertesz, Jean Robertson and Arlene Csornán (who looked wonderful at our bowling tournament). Please keep all our members in your prayers. We look forward to seeing everyone at our 2014 activities. Happy birthday and anniversary wishes go to all of our branch members and Home Office staff celebrating a June/July birthday and/or anniversary. Happy 67th wedding anniversary on June 14 to Violet and Ernie Sarosi, parents of Branch 14 officers Caroline Lanzara and Richard Sarosi. May God continue to bless them with all things good, happiness, faith and love. Please note: Our branch meeting time changed. Our next Branch 14 meeting will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 7:00 p.m. at The First Hungarian Reformed Church, 14530 Alexander Road, Walton Hills. Adult Branch 14 members are welcome to attend. Branch members having news to share about themselves or family members can reach me at RichSaro@ att.net or at 1-440-248-9012. Branch 18 Lincoln Park, MI by Barbara A. House Happy summer! I hope summer makes an appearance this year. At the time of this writing, it seems very doubtful. We can only hope. Our new intern from Hungary is here. She is the sweetest girl. I hope all of you get to meet her. Her name is Tímea Kerekes. You will see her bio in this issue. Welcome, Timea. It is a pleasure to know you. Welcome new members Olga, Sándor, Alexander, David and Norbert Kulcsár. What a wonderful family. They went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Welcome also to Christine, Frank and Marcus Moldovan and mom Gloria Long. Thank you for thinking of WPA and me for you insurance needs. Congratulations to Kathryn McCord on her confirmation. Welcome to adulthood. Special thanks to Kathy Megyeri for all her wonderful articles and very special gifts. I wear the cross, and I love it. Yes, I watched the canonization from start to finish. You are a very special friend. Special thanks to our New Business Department for all your help. WPA is very lucky to have employees who go above and beyond the call of duty. You are appreciated. Special hello to Joan Parete. Glad to hear you are doing much better. Get well wishes to Emma Poliska, Betty Holguin, Mary Ann Deri, Irene Korpák, and A1 and Olga Wansa. Hope you are all better soon. Steve "Pista" Szatmári also had very serious surgery. We send a WPA get well to Steve. Thank you to all who brought so many animal donations to our last branch meeting. The shelter was thrilled when I opened the back of my truck. We collect for animals all year long. This is a no-kill shelter. Our next branch meeting is Sept. 3, at 7:00 p.m. at the Hungarian American Cultural Center in Taylor on Goddard. We will always make you feel very welcome. We are busily working on our picnic trip to Scenic View to celebrate our Hungarian heritage. The cost is $95. That includes bus, hotel, admission to the event and all you can eat and drink. Please let me know ASAP if you plan to attend. I do limit the number of members from Branch 18. Hope to see you there. Special hello to Bella Kopicko. She is Annie's youngest furry, fourlegged child. She was at our last branch meeting. Hope she attends all of them. Thank you to the Rev. Barnabas Kiss who always goes out of his way to mention WPA at all his services. The church looked magnificent for Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. Happy 100th birthday to Helen Soltész. You have led a charmed life. Happy June birthday to my brother, Joe Gall, National Directors Anne Marie Schmidt and Richard Sarosi, Home Office employees Debbie Evans and Kerri Kramer, and, last but not least, our "Just 4 Kidz" contributor, Gerry Davenport. Thank you, Gerry, for encouraging our young members to keep active in WPA through contests, puzzles and games. In July, WPA hosts our annual golf tournament. We have many surprises planned for you. If you plan on bringing a Chinese auction basket, please let Ronda know at the home office, 1-800-848-7366 ext. 112. We will also hold our scholarship meeting that weekend. Please bring your checkbook. We are looking forward to seeing you there. William Penn Life 0 June 2014 0 21
