Branch News O Are your beneficiaries up to date? That’s a question you may not have asked yourself very often, if ever. But, it’s one you should ask yourself at least once a year. We can't stress enough the importance of regularly checking the beneficiaries listed on your life insurance certificates. It is the only way to ensure that the people you want to receive the benefits of your life insurance are the ones who will receive it. Think about the changes that have occurred in your life since you purchased your life insurance. Getting married, having children, losing a loved one, getting remarried-all these life changes affect your responsibilities. In some states, divorce may make your beneficiaries null and void. Do the beneficiaries currently listed on your life insurance certificates reflect such changes? If you think you need to update the beneficiaries listed on your certificates--either primary or secondary beneficiaries-contact your WPA representative. Or, call our Home Office toll-free at 1-800-848-7366. Memorial Day is celebrated on May 28. Remember our service men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom and for freedom around the world. The next time you see someone in a uniform, whether it be a military member or a member of your police or fire department, thank them for their service. They put their lives on the line for all of us every day and some even lose their lives for our safety. Happy birthday to all those celebrating a birthday this month. May you have many more and may all of them be healthy. If you have any questions on your life insurance or need assistance with any service forms, please do not hesitate to contact me at 412- 319-7116 or by email at dmckinsey@ hotmail.com. Branch 800 Altoona, PA by Vincent Frank As Memorial Day on May 28 approaches, let us not forget the meaning of this holiday weekend while our backyards are filled with friends and the smell of good food cooking on the grill. Memorial Day honors the American men and women who have died while serving in our country's military. They must not be forgotten. Branch 800 continues to give $500 each year to St. Dismas Parish, which is located inside the State Correctional Institute at Huntingdon, Pa. The branch gets a thank you letter each year from the Catholic chaplain who is always so grateful for this gift to help in spiritual matters. We honor all mothers during the month of May. We thank them for all they do to help us in our everyday difficulties. Our branch meetings are held on the second Monday of each month from October through May at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Education Center in Altoona. All members are most welcome to attend.
