Puzzle Contest #83 with Lizzy Cseh r — — — — — — — — — — — -i Tin* month of Mary, mothers & flowers This month in our Wordsearch, we honor Mary, the Mother of Jesus, all of our dear Mothers and the beautiful flowers that return to blossom in this, the emerald month. While recently helping my brothers select records for our Hungarian radio program, I noticed many songs with titles about the aforementioned subjects. (By the way, my nagyapa, nagymama and apa began broadcasting for the first time 33 years ago on Mother’s Day.) The Wordsearch for May will feature clue words from some familiar Magyar songs. Part of the puzzle will also contain the last names of the singers and zenészek who recorded these wonderful tunes. I picked selections by performers from Pittsburgh, Youngstown, Cleveland, New Jersey, Bethlehem and Connecticut. Listed below are the song titles, who recorded them and where the performers came from. As usual, the puzzle clues themselves will be listed under the puzzle. “Kék nefelejcs” by Rabb Jóska, Cleveland “Viragos kis ablak” by Lou Sikora, Youngstown “Hogyha ir majd édesanyám” by Feri Borisz, Cleveland “Nincs senki olyan Jó” by Frank Mikisits, Bethlehem, Pa. “Orgona virágok” by Kara-Nemeth, New Jersey1 “Anyám, királynője életemnek” by Julia R. Orosz, Pittsburgh2 “Édesanyám, a kendőm” by Joe Jeromos, Cleveland “Gyönyörű, mikor a május virágzik” by Rozsika and László, Connecticut 1. Vocal from the Kara-Nemeth Orchestra by Steve Chonka. 2. Julia R. Orosz was backed up instrumentally by the Toni Lakatos Zene. She hosted for several decades, a weekly Sunday radio program in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area titled, “The Garden of Hungarian Songs.” Good Luck and remember to honor all of our mothers!
