Branch News truly a worthwhile charity. Are your beneficiaries up to date? I have been doing a lot of work in that area. Please check your certificates and call me if you need to make some changes. Remember the families of our deceased members in your prayers, especially the families of Kalman Toth Jr., Joseph Kustos and John Majka. May they rest in peace. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Carol and Doug Truesdell on the death of Carol's mother, Ann Mehi. Please keep Ann, Carol, Doug and their family in your prayers. Happy birthday to Jason Wolfe, Judy Chakey, Judit I. Borsay, the Rev. Victor Roman, and, last but not least, the Rev. Barnabas Kiss of Holy Cross, the only Hungarian Catholic Parish in the Detroit area. These are all special people who do so much for others. May you all have a wonderful day. Remember to honor all those who sacrificed their lives while serving in our country's armed forces this Memorial Day. They gave their lives so that we can live in freedom. Remember, we are home now. You can reach me at 734-782-4667 or at 313-418-5572. Branch 28 Youngstown, OH by Kathy Novak Special thoughts and remembrances to all our mothers as their special day is celebrated on May 13. By the time you read this, the 2012 bowling event will be a new WPA memory for those who attended. Looking forward to being part of it. Once again, Branch 28's Join Hands Day project will be to support and volunteer for the Youngstown Cityscape project. Volunteers will be assigned throughout the downtown area to clean up and plant flowers. It's not too early to reserve your seat on Branch 28's bus trip to the WPA Picnic-A Great Fraternal Fest on Sept. 8. For more information, call Steve at 330-746-7704 or Frank at 330-549-2935. Best wishes to Caitlin Tarcy, who will spend a week volunteering at a medical facility in Haiti. She will be traveling there in June to assist a doctor and his team as they fit artificial limbs to those in need of them. Keep safe, Caitlin. Congratulations to National President George S. Charles, Jr., who was honored with the Abraham Lincoln Award from the American Hungarian Foundation at the Carousel Ball in New Brunswick, N.J. It is such an appropriate award for such a deserving recipient. We at WPA are privileged to have him as our leader. All who know you, Pete, are very proud of you and congratulate you. Our best wishes to Mary Rectenwald and Gerry Davenport upon their retirement from the Home Office. Thank you, Gerry, for always being there with a smile and helping hand when we needed assistance in WPA situations. Best wishes to both of you. Remember to honor this Memorial Day all those who lost their lives while serving in our nation's armed forces. And please keep all our veterans and those currently serving our country in your thoughts and prayers. Get well wishes to all those not feeling up to par, especially Joan Mauerman. Hoping all our birthday and anniversary celebrants have a great day. Our sincere sympathy is extended to all those who have recently lost a loved one. For your life insurance and annuity needs, please call Kathy at 330-746-7704 or Alan at 330-482-9994. Branch 59 Windber, PA by Shirley A. Rakoczy-Przywara Trust you all had a Boldog Húsvét! Happy Easter! On March 24, some of the members of Branch 59 Windber met at the Coventry Place apartment building in Scalp Level for a meeting and social gathering. Endre Csornán, National Vice President-Fraternal, and his wife, Arlene, attended. Others included myself, Marge Popovnak, Barb Hancharik, Andy Csordás, Steve and Pearl Beretsel, Ruth Rakoczy and Evelyn. (Anthony Debiase could not attend due to illness.) Endre and Arlene had just returned from a trip to Hungary during which Endre was presented with an award for his outstanding achievements and accomplishments dealing with Hungarian heritage in the USA, not to mention his involvement with William Penn Association. Congratulations on a well-deserved recognition from Hungary! At the March 24 meeting, Endre was most helpful in matters of the Association, and those in attendance were very attentive to what he had to say. I am especially pleased that he took the time to come and be a part of Branch 59's meeting. He even added some humor to the occasion. Thank you very much, Endre. Wishing all of you who have birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions in May a great day. Let's not forget Mother's Day, as well. I lost my mom many years ago, but not a day goes by that I don't think of her. I know that one day I will see her again. So, to all of you mom's, happy Mother's Day. You might enjoy this interpretation of what "Mother" means: MOTHER "M" is for the million things she gave me, "O" means only that she's growing old, "T" is for the tears she shed to save me, "H" is for her heart of purest gold; "E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining, "R" means right, and right she'll always be, Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER," A word that means the world to me. Thank you, God, for all of our mothers. They are truly a blessing. Branch 129 Columbus, OH by Debbie Lewis Hello all from Columbus, Ohio.
