Branch News Member of Branch 18 Lincoln Park, Mich., a local Cub Scout troup worked together on a Join Hands Day project June 1, which included planting 50 flats of flowers at St Francis Xavier Church. a lot of money. Please help. We can't do it without you. Call me if you have any questions. Many thanks to Endre Csornán and his hard-working crew for the very special menu they have planned this year. Holy Cross Hungarian Catholic Church is having a mézeskalács sale on Sept. 7 and 8. How long has it been since you've seen something like that? Mézeskalács are wonderful honey cookies decorated with colorful ethnic designs. You MUST see them. Sept. 14 is the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, the church's feast day. Hungarian Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., followed by a wonderful dinner at 12:30 p.m. The church will also be hosting its annual fall card party on Oct. 12 at 12:30 p.m. Meanwhile, the Hungarian American Cultural Center will be hosting a pig roast on Sept. 20. The center is open for dinner Fridays at 5:00 p.m. and Sundays at noon. Please remember in your prayers our deceased members and their families, especially Alex Thomas and Ronald E. Haynes. The Hungarian community lost a wonderful friend recently. Csaba Krajcz passed away on June 2,2008. He was a noted Hungarian chef and a true supporter of all Hungarian events. May they rest in peace. Special birthday wishes to Gabby's grandpa Rudy Korpák. Happy anniversary wishes to Carol and Doug Truesdell. We love you all very much. Get well wishes to all, especially Bill Sorke, Rocky Borsa, Doug Truesdell, Helen Molnár, Julie Bubenko and Bob and Elsie Kantor. Hope you all get well very soon. Happy retirement to my brother, Joe Gall. He has driven a long distance truck for FedEx for 38 years. He and some of his family were here in Michigan for a visit from Mississippi. Steve and Ann Nagy were recently chosen as king and queen of the Lincoln Park Seniors. The Nagys have been married for 61 years. They are the parents of two sons and have three grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. Congratulations. Thank you, Deac Sabo, for again remembering the WPA and me for your financial needs. You are loved. Nice to see Steve Danko at the Rhapsody. He and Julia were here visiting their family for a month. Remember the WPFA Scholarship Foundation. Congratulations to all those who particiapted in the 25th Annual Golf Tournament and Scholarship Days. Hosting this special scholarship/ fraternal event was the great city of Harrisburg, Pa. As always, it was great getting together with fellow WPA members. Back in Youngstown, there was a wonderful celebration in honor of the Rev. Msgr. Dezső Torok's 60th anniversary in the priesthood. National Vice President Endre Csornán and his wife Arlene made a presentation on behalf of the WPA Home Office, and Branch 28 Coordinator Kathy Novak presented Msgr. Torok with a certificate of appreciation. Happy birthday to all those celebrating their special day this month, especially Branch 28 President Steve Novak. Happy anniversary to all those loving couples celebrating another blessed year together. We would like to wish a very special happy 70th anniversary to John and Helen Kaluczky on Aug. 11. Special congratulations go out to Joe and Ethel Kripchak as their son Kristopher graduated from the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, Calif., where he received his master's degree in meteorology.
