Branch News tion. Thanks also for buying tickets for the raffle. Thanks, Shirley Kotikthe special treats were wonderful. Thanks, Gus and Ruth Scarpelli and Rose and Dick Adams. It was a joy being with you. Have you or a family member ever received a scholarship from the WPA? If so, wouldn't it be great to return the favor? We give a huge number of grants every year. We depend on fund raisers and your donations to keep this program alive. You could even make the scholarship foundation your beneficiary. Just give it some thought. You can make a lot of young people happy. We even give some grants to the not-so-young. Congratulations to Alex Marchelletta, 14, and his sister Christina, 12. Both of their Little League teams played in the Michigan state tournament this summer. Grandma Rose and mom Rita are so proud. Just like we are right now of our Detroit Tigers. Would you believe we beat the Yankees? Never in a million years. Now it's on to the World Series. My mom is home from Hungary. Welcome back. She had a wonderful time. Maybe next year, I hope. Happy birthday to Gabby's grandma. Congratulations to Helen Werling on her retirment from the WPA. She retired after working in the Home Office for 48 years. Best wishes for a happy retirement. I know you will keep very busy. Much thanks and love for all your hard work. Christmas party invitations are in the mail. If you did not receive one but wish to attend, please call me anytime. The party will be held Sunday, Nov. 26, at 1:30 p.m. at the American Hungarian Reformed Church, 9901 Allen Road, Allen Park. We ask you to bring a child-friendly dessert. We host our party early to keep December open for all your other holiday obligations. We welcomed a bit more than 100 children last year. I hope we top that this year. Get well wishes go to Elsie Radvany, Elsie Kantor, Anna Nagy and Rocky Borsa. Get well real soon. Remember in your prayers our deceased members, especially Rose MacDonald, the Rev.
