May everyone have a blessed Easter season. Branch 76 Philadelphia, PA by Bette Lewis Tokár We hope that you are all recovering from any winter flu or other illness and are looking forward to the coming of spring. In Philadelphia, we have had unusually cold weather this winter, and spring will be extremely welcome. For those former Philadelphians who have moved south (maybe to Florida), we hope that you are enjoying the warmer weather and have recovered from any damage done by last year's hurricanes. We particularly think about Armand and Laura DeVoe, who had bought their home in Florida very shortly before it was destroyed by a hurricane. We understand that they are planning to rebuild this spring, and hope that all goes well for them. The Philadelphia Hungarian Club had its annual elections in January. The complete slate of officers will be detailed in the next branch article. The Magyar Otthon is planning a celebration of the 1848 revolution. It will be held Saturday, March 12, at the club. Please call the club for further information and to make your reservations. We hope that all those who are celebrating birthdays this month are enjoying good health and are looking forward to another year. We wish you all the best. We are interested in hearing from all Branch 76 members. Have you celebrated a significant event, such as a major birthday, marriage or family addition? Let us know and we will publish your news so that all our members can share in it. Address your news to Jack and Bette Tokár, 153 Pinehill Road, Feasterville, PA 19053-7809. If there is any way that we can help you with life insurance or annuities, please give us a call at 215-357-4516. Branch 249 Dayton, OH by Anne Marie Schmidt Congratulations and happy anniversary to the William Penn Association as it celebrates 119 years of fraternalism. How proud we all are to be members of such a fine and upstanding organization. May we prosper for many years to come! Our monthly bowling at Pla-Mor Lanes was off to a great start in January with numerous bowlers participating. It's not too late to join us and to get some practice balls in before the Annual Bowling Tournament. We meet on the second Sunday of each month at 3:00 p.m. The cost is $7.50 for three games. Plans are underway for the Annual Bowling Tournament to be held in Michigan. We have a bus reserved, but need firm commitments from more riders to justify the cost. Either way, we'll be there with several teams. We look forward to socializing with our many friends from other branches. If you are interested in attending, or need more information, please call me at 937-667-1211. Our next cabbage roll sale will be held on March 17 at St. Stephen's Church Hall.
