Branch News held with the winners as follows: Irene Nemeth, Renee McCaplin, Christina Kobasic, Elaine Heilman, Mary Schauer and Jamie Schauer. As always, plenty of food was available. A special "thank you" to Endre Csornán for taking time from his busy schedule to join us at the festive event. We thank the officers, committee and members who helped to make this event a success. Leftover gift items were donated to Tod's Children's Hospital for distribution to their young patients. Following the party a brief meeting was held to elect branch officers for 2005. Our officers are: Steve Novak, president; Frank Schauer, vice president; Kathy Novak, secretarytreasurer; and Mary Schauer and Maria Goda, auditors. Our November meeting was held to honor the 50-year members. With the help of the Home Office, our files were updated and approximately 120 invitations and certificates were sent out. Get well wished to all those under the weather. Best wishes to everyone celebrating a birthday or anniversary this month. We also express our sincere sympathy to those who have lost a loved one recently. Branch 51 Passiac, NJ by Martha Barillo Kívánunk mindnyájatoknak kellemes Karácsonyi Unepeket és Al da sós Uj Evet. Every year I have one Christmas wish: to be back in the little town in Europe where I grew up; to have snow cover everything on Christmas Eve and go caroling with all my friends. If you stand outside and listen to the carolers in the neighboring towns, it's like a host of angels singing; it's like magic. I left that town on Dec. 28,1947. Enough of this and let's get back to the present. I hope you all enjoyed the holiday festivities. We did. We had our annual branch party on Dec. 5. Thank God the weather was great, and so was the party. The clown was entertaining and so were the Baldagy triplets (age 2). Santa (our son-in-law) arrived with presents for all the children. As they sat on his lap to tell him what they wanted for Christmas, Branch President Art Barillo gave the children there stockings filled with gifts. The children were happy and they enjoyed the delicious pizza and soda. We also had the election of officers. The slate remained the same: Art Barillo, president; Frank Zimmermann, vice president; Richard Mozer, treasurer; Martha Barillo, secretary; and Hedy Baumgartner and Joe Baumgartner, auditors. Congratulations to you all. God Bless the William Penn for their generosity. It's a great habit. Keep it up! God give us the strength to face the New Year, bless the sick, the hungry and all who are suffering. This is our wish. For questions about the William f\ Penn please call: Arthur Barillo at 856-678-9037. Happy New Year! Branch 76 Philadelphia, PA by Jack Tokár We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. We wish you all a wonderful New Year with all the blessings possible: health, joy, peace and, most of all, love. The branch Christmas party was held in conjunction with the Philadelphia Hungarian Club, 1125 Southampton Road, Philadelphia, on Dec. 18. There was also a special party for children ages 3 to 5. Santa was there with merriment for all and gifts for the insured children of Branch 76. At 6:00 p.m. the party for adults began. These are challenging times at the Magyar Otthon. We are trying to celebrate all the Hungarian national holidays along with the American ones. It is difficult to keep up with all the tasks at hand, such as maintaining the building and grounds and paying taxes and other expenses. Our membership keeps getting smaller and there 16 William Penn Life, January 2005
