f Branch 14 Cleveland, OH by Dawn D. Ward Branch 14 will hold its first meeting of 2001 on April 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the First Hungarian Reformed Church, 14530 Alexander Road, Walton Hills. Branch President Caroline Lanzara and Vice President Emma Oris were reelected at our December meeting. Our newly-elected secre­tary-treasurer is Richard Sarosi. Lou Horvath and Irene Evans were reelected as auditors. They are joined by newly-elected auditor Virginia Volter. All Branch 14 adult members are welcome to attend the April 11 meeting to help plan a branch­­sponsored family summer activity. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please refer to the next issue of the William Penn Life for an update on the branch's upcoming activities. Branch 15 Chicago, IL by Mary V. Kaszonyi We are looking forward to the Annual Bowling Tournament. If you would like to attend, please call me to reserve a spot. Those of us that will be attending will let you know how it went. We do look forward to seeing so many of the other branches' members, renewing friendships and making new friends. All you non-bowlers, think about attending the Annual Golf Tourna­ment. I'm told that even if you are not a golfer, there is much fun to be had. Info about the golf tournament will appear in a future edition of this publication. A reminder for all college-bound members: the deadline for WPA scholarship applications is May 31. So, don't delay. Request an applica­tion and submit it a.s.a.p. A special thank you to Mihály Horvath who acted as branch president in place of Arpad Laczina (now residing in Hungary). Our deepest sympathy goes to the Barna/Bako family on the loss of Members attending Branch I29’s annual Christmas party in December were entertained by (l-r) Gabriella Gegenhimer, Ilona Relle and Anneliese Gegenhimer, under the watchful eye of uncle Attilla Relle. House Happy Easter to all our wonderful members. I know we are all ready for spring weather. Welcome to our new members Jane, Jennifer, Nicole and Marc Soresi. It was a pleasure to be in your home. Welcome also to Marc and Mykaela Hopps. Thank you grandma Mabel Frasik. We welcome Michael S. Gibson and Barbara and Matthew Yarbrough. I hope to see you at our branch meetings. Thank you for choosing the WPA. Thank you to my wonderful group that went with me to Presbyterian village. We met some lovely resi­dents. Thanks, Irene Korpák, Bill Imry, Rose P. Antal and Marge Heller, for all your help. We will be going to Veterans Hospital in April. Volunteers are always welcome. Our charity for the month was the Penrickton Center for Blind Children. Thanks also to Communications Chairman Bill Imry for all your hard work. You really get our members involved. Happy birthday to all our members, especially Steve Charles, Branch Secretary Rose Antal, and Branch Auditor Rey Holguin. Happy anniversary to Rey and Betty Holguin, Mike and Zita Kara and Dianne and Pete Charles. May you all celebrate many more. Special birthday wishes to George Lajtos on his 100th birthday April 24. He and his wife Helen were married 76 years before she passed away last August. George is still an active member of Holy Cross Parish, as is his daughter Helen Bailey and grandson George Bailey—WPA members all. Have a wonderful celebration. Upcoming events at Holy Cross include a wedding anniversary Mass and dinner May 6; the May crowning May 13; and the Festival at Yack Center June 9 and 10. The Hungarian American Cultural Center picnic will be held Aug. 12. Please pray for the families of our deceased members Alexander Recsei, Mary Ecsedi, Helen Emerling and Louise Massey. May they rest in peace. Congratulations Bobby Ivancso on your 300 game. Wow! What an accomplishment. By now forms for the Annual Bowling Tournament should have been returned to the Home Office.
