Branch r Branch 8 Johnstown, PA By Dorothy Kedves Branch 8 held its annual Christmas party on Dec. 3 at the United Church of Christ. A good time was had by all. Everyone enjoyed the delicious lunch, goodies and refreshments. The gift bags full of surprises were a big Elections of officers for 2001 were held recently and the results were as follows: Sándor J. Juhas, president; Ernest W. Kedves, vice president; Dorothy Kedves, secretary; David S. Kozak, treasurer; Mary Groshans, auditor; and Elaine Engle, auditor. Branch 13 Trenton, NJ By Elsie H. Radvany Branch 13 held its annual family Christmas party on Dec. 10 at the American Hungarian Democratic Club in Trenton. Branch President Frank J. Radvany opened the festivities with a short business meeting during which officers were elected for the year 2001. The following officers were reelected: Mr. Radvany, presi­dent; Joseph Hamari, vice president; Elsie H. Radvany, secretary; An­thony C. Beke, treasurer; Steven Beke, auditor; and Margaret Hamari, auditor. Arlene Gordon, daughter of Mr. Radvany, duly installed the officers. The family Christmas party commenced with the traditional buffet which included kolbász, head cheese, pogácsa, cake and refresh­ments. The children received goody bags containing candy, cookies, fruit and items supplied by the Home Office (coloring books, carol books, pens, pencils, crayons, sponges and Officers of Branch 13 Trenton, N.J., for 2001 are (front, l-r) Margaret Hamari, auditor; Elsie H. Each child also received a special gift. Everyone enjoyed an afternoon of fraternal and Christmas spirit. Our sincere thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Hamari for the beautiful hall and table decorations. We extend sincere thanks and appreciation to the Home Office for the generous contribution to our party. Mr. Beke, who also serves as chairman of the WPA Board of Directors, extended Christmas greetings on behalf of the National Officers, Board of Directors, National Auditing Committee and branch officers. Branch 14 Cleveland, OH_____J By Dawn D. Ward The Branch 14 children's Christmas party held Dec. 3 at the First Hungar­ian Reformed Church in Walton Hills was a tremendous success. Seventy children attended along with their families. Everyone enjoyed a deli­cious buffet lunch while Sparkles the Clown painted faces. A spectacular magic show enthralled old and young alike. Santa's arrival, with his sack full of gifts was the highlight for the children. About 30 Branch 14 members attended the wonderful show, "Tony and Tina's Wedding," at the Hanna Theater Dec. 10. Everyone en­joyed this entertaining "wedding," and the branch officers will be planning more outings like it. The next Branch 14 meeting will be held Wednesday, April 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Hungarian Re­formed Church, 14530 Alexander Road, Walton Hills, Ohio. Branch 16 Perth Amboy, NJ / By Michaelene Mirkovich On Dec. 9 the annual family Christ­mas party was held at St. Nicholas Byzantine Church in Perth Amboy. Branch President George F. Mirko­vich welcomed everyone and ex­tended greetings from the branch officers and the WPA. After a dinner of fried chicken and salads, our program began with Sunny the Clown, who kept both the young and old guessing as to how she did her many magic tricks. Her animal balloons were a special delight for the children, each of whom received one to take home. However, as always, the highlight of the day was the entrance of Santa Claus. Prior to his arrival, Steve Mészáros led everyone in singing traditional Christmas carols, and at the sound of Santa's bells everyone began to sing "Santa Claus Is Com­ing to Town".
