October 31 is the day set aside for the kids to have a lot of fun while dressing up in their costumes. As they go from house to house, they will be looking for treats. Let’s not disappoint the children. Have something ready for them. Happy Halloween to all. The branch is back in business again as our three-month summer recess has come to an end and we return to our schedule of monthly meetings. All Branch 800 meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the social hall of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. We had a very good session at our Sept. 1 meeting, which included reports on the summer picnic and its success. Other business was transacted through Branch Coordinator Bob Jones. A light lunch followed the meeting. Daylight savings time ends on Sunday, Oct. 25. Don’t forget to turn all clocks back one hour and enjoy an extra hour of sleep. The safety council also recommends we change the batteries in smoke detectors at the same time. A reminder to all branch members: do you need to update the beneficiaries listed on your insurance policies? Please check this out and call Bob Jones at (814) 942-2661 if changes are needed. Bob will also be happy to take care of any other life insurance needs you may have. The branch is always eager to sign up new male and female members, both children and adults, for our Association.
