Golf tournament set for July 25 PITTSBURGH - Attention all William Penn golfers! The Association’s Ninth Annual National Golf Tournament is a mere five months away! This year’s tournament will be held on Saturday, July 25, at the Tam O’Shanter Golf Course in West Middlesex, Pa. If the name of that course rings a bell, it should. The Association held its tournament there in 1989, and it received favorable reviews from many of the golfers who played in that tournament. Accommodations will be at the Ramada Inn (formerly the Sheraton Inn-Shenango). The schedule for the tournament will be like that of previous tournaments. There will be a golfers’ reception Friday, July 24, at the hotel, featuring the annual putting contest for the benefit of the Association’s scholarship foundation. The golf awards dinner will be held Saturday evening and will feature a door prize giveaway and the popular auction raffle for a new set of golf clubs and bag. Organizers are also planning to again hold a hole-in-one contest for all eligible members. Eligibility rules for the hole-inone contest and other details for the tournament will appear in future issues of the William Penn Life. Dayton prepares for bowling tourney Continued from Page 1 Office and we will try our best to place you on a team. The bowling events will conclude on Sunday with men’s and women’s singles and doubles competitions. Free bus transportation between the hotel and bowling lanes will be provided to all bowlers both Saturday and Sunday. The social highlight of the weekend will be the awards dinner on Saturday evening. There will be a pre-dinner cocktail hour, door prizes, live music and dancing, plus the announcing of the winners of the day’s team events. The weekend will officially begin Friday with the annual meetings of the William Penn Fraternal Association Scholarship Foundation and Louis L. Varga Scholars Guild. Both meetings will be held at the hotel. After the meetings, a reception for all bowlers will be held in the hotel, featuring plenty of free food and refreshments. The tournament is being sponsored under the moral support sanction of the ABC and WIBC with high score recognition. Entry forms are being mailed to Association branches. All entftes must be postmarked no later than April 15, 1992. We encourage all William Penn members to join us for this fun-filled weekend. We hope to see you in Dayton May 22.
