Branch 1 Bridgeport, CT By William J. Bero National Director The holiday season is once again rapidly approaching and the members of Branch 1 are busily preparing to add a special warmth to the season and to reach out to others. As the time of giving thanks and counting our blessings is foremost in our minds, we will be distributing turkeys to the needy in the Greater Bridgeport area. Branch 1 also would like to extend wishes to all for a healthy and blessed Thanksgiving. The members of Branch 1 feel it is particularly appropriate at this time to express our well wishes and greetings to Lou and Ethel Fodor and their son, Commander Fodor, for a speedy and successful recovery from Lou’s and his son’s recent surgeries. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. The highlight of the holiday season will be our second annual New Year’s Eve Gala Party. Plans are underway for another successful event. As it was last year, the party will be held at the Bessemer Center, 2200 North Avenue, Bridgeport. The evening will include a champagne toast, set-ups, party favors, live music and buffet dinner. Coffee and pastry will also be served after midnight. Last year’s party turned out to be a fun, inexpensive and exciting evening for all who attended.
