May 1988, William Penn Life, Page 11 In Memóriám HOMESTEAD, PA — John S. Toth Sr., former president of Branch 89 Homestead, passed away at his home on March 22, 1988. He was 60. Mr. Toth was an active member of his branch, where he held the position of president for 16 years from January 1972 to December 1987. He was the "Santa” at the branch’s family Christmas parties and was instrumental in organiz­ing the many affairs that Branch 89 held during those years. He was a member of the First Hungarian Reformed Church of Homestead where he served as an elder for many years and as chief elder from 1980 to 1984. Mr. Toth was an officer of Homestead-Amity F&AM 582 Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, Consistory and Syria Temple. He received three Masonic awards: one for service, the past Master’s Degree and, most recently, the King Solomon award. He was also a member of the American-Hungarian Social Asso­ciation of Hazelwood, Pa. Mr. Toth was a retired em­ployee of the Mesta Machine Co. where he worked for 39 years, retiring as an industrial estimator and evaluator. While at Mesta, he was instrumental in starting the Mesta Brotherhood and Invest­ment Club in which he held the position of business manager. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Kraft Toth; two daughters, Carolyn Hanchak and Linda Kub­­ancsek; four sons, John Jr., Wayne, Richard and Robert; and six grandchildren. He was the brother of National Director Elmer W. Toth. His sons John Jr. and Richard are employed at the Home Office.
