William Penn Life, September-October 1986, Page 11 ■BRANCH NEWS­Branch 8020 Holds Cookout For Center’s Residents, Staff By Bill Arbanas President, Br. 8020 Branch 8020, McKees Rocks, Pa., sponsored Sept. 5 a cookout for the residents and staff of the Robinson Developmental Center, a local care facility for mental­ly retarded adults. The cookout was held at Mount St. George in Wellsburg, W.Va. Last year, the branch sponsored two such outings at Mount St. George for the center’s residents and staff. At both events all in atten­dance had a good time. The Association and Branch President Bill Ar­banas earlier this year received special recognition from the center for their con­­tinued support of the center’s programs. Future events being plan­ned by the branch include a dinner for all branch members and invited guests. No date has been set for the dinner. In December the branch will sponsor its annual Christmas party for the residents of the Mount St. George Home for the Elder­ly. It also will host a Christmas party for the Robinson Developmental Center. Members of Baltimore area branches gather on the deck of the M.V. Lady Baltimore for a 100th anniversary celebration cruise of Chesapeake Bay. Baltimore Area Branches Join Centennial Cruise Couple Celebrates 50th Anniversary By Terry M. Tishner District President Baltimore area branches celebrated the 100th an­niversary of the William Penn by participating in a luncheon cruise from Baltimore’s famous Inner Harbor aboard the M.V. Lady Baltimore on Wednesday, July 16. Some of the 40 members who attended “hooked work” to enjoy the cruise of the Chesapeake Bay, par­take of the delicious lunch and join in the singing and dancing. Good fellowship and hap­piness prevailed during the cruise as members wished the Association many more years of prosperity and service. In other news, Branch 8330 President Kathryn Maurer is in good spirits after suffering a broken foot and two broken wrists in a fall in her home. Please pray for her complete recovery. By Michael L. Fodor Branch Coordinator Mr. and Mrs. William A. Kowalski of Tonawanda, N.Y., recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniver­sary by renewing their vows in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. A reception given by their children in Salvatore Italian Gardens in Depew, N.Y., followed the mass. The Kowalskis were mar­ried June 20, 1936 in St. Elizabeth Church in Buffalo. They have one son, two daughters and eight grandchildren. Mrs. Kowalski is a member of Branch 383, Buf­falo, and the sister of the late Joseph Senfner (Taylor) who was the former branch manager of Branch 383. The members of Branch 383 send their best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Kowalski and remind them that the best is yet to come. Tishner _____Branch Reporter_____ Branch 8302, St. Jane Frances de Chantel, Maryland, again hosted the annual celebration of Father’s Day with a mass and communion breakfast on Sunday, June 15. Msgr. Charles F. Muth, the branch’s spiritual director, was the celebrant. The affair was well attended by the members with children and grandchildren participating. An invitation was extended to parish members and many joined in the celebration. The door prize was won by Mrs. Sue Kessler, and Mrs. Vera Chapman won the 50/50 raffle. Ten other prizes, including prizes for children, were given away. As in the past, the organiz­ing committee did an ex­cellent job of hosting the af­fair. The food was tasty and plentiful. Thanks to all members of Branch 8302 who worked so hard to make this another successful fraternal affair.
