BRANCH 28 Youngstown, OH Branch 28—Smiles of delight prevailed on the faces of children and adults alike when they surrounded Santa Claus for this group picture taken at the Our Lady of Hungary Church Hall in Youngsiown during the annual Christmas party in mid-December. By Helen R. Kaluczky Reporter Mike Tomcsak was elected president of Branch 28. Other officers include John Kaluczky, vice-president; Leslie Wash, secretary-treasurer; Charles Szekely, auditor and Helen R. Kaluczky, auditor/ reporter. Though the situation was somewhat precarious just days before the event, our annual Christmas party was an overwhelming success. Prior to the party the list of invitees was inadvertently lost in the mail, we had no carol books and none of the plans in place. Thanks to Gus Nagy and the Home Office, we managed to salvage the event through the cooperation of such folks as Leslie Wash, Mike Tomcsak, Rose Matasy, John Kaluczky and others who helped put the party together, much to the delight of all those in attendance. One of our primary problems is the lack of member interest in our meetings and some members believe the time is right to merge with other nearby branches. On the other hand, interest is gearing up for the 100th anniversary celebration of the William Penn Association and the 1986 bowling tournament. In the past years Peggy Sándor has been the bowling coordinator, but is not now up to the challenge and we are appealing to any member who would like, to assume that responsibility. If there is please telephone any one of the following; Gabe Nameth, 799-8145; uohn Kaluczky, 782-9851; or Leslie Wash, 755-4447. It’s not too early to begin planning for the tournament. Members are reminded that all of their insurance needs can be fulfilled through the William Penn Association and there are numerous insurance “bargains” during our centennial year. Call Gabe Nameth, the Branch Coordinator.
