good old days, especially of the “Goat Hill” days!! My, what stories!!! Never realized how much mischief these William Penn “Goat Hill’ Boys got into! Thank you Dave and Goldie for such an enjoyable time! Hope to see you at our William Penn Club soon. A plaque was presented to the management of our William Penn Club, by the Marlington High School, in appreciation for the management participating in the O.W.E. program at the school. We thank them for the plaque and also for choosing our club for the banquet for their students. Our summer has arrived, and are we glad! Summer means vacation time. Enjoy every minute of it. Fraternally, Marie Duruttya Reporter, Branch 189 Branch 249 Dayton, Ohio Our Branch Bowling Banquet was held on April 7 at which time trophies were awarded. The banquet consisted of a delicious array of Hungarian foods and pastries prepared and served by faithful ladies of our branch, Mrs. Regina Dúsak, Mrs. Margaret Bower, Mrs. Joseph Konti, Mrs. Helen Farkas, Mrs. Betty Mayerchak, Mrs. Margaret Horvath and Ms. Viola Dúsak. Total arrangements for the evening festivities were made by Branch Vice President, Steve Horvath. He was assisted in presenting the plaques by the “William Penn Mixed League” Secretary, Mary Tuss. First place team trophies went to brother and sister Andrea and Leslie Matyas, Jr., Pat Murphy and Bernard Kender. Second place team trophies went to Dorothy and Earl Russel, Anne Marie Kertesz and Tibor Kelemen. tinuous dedication to Hungarian Culture through Radio Broadcasting and Services. The weekly radio program “Music of Hungary” is currently presented on Station WQRP each Sunday from 9:00 A.M. until 12 Noon. We congratulate those who were among the winners and extend our heartfelt thanks to all who par­ticipated. Our bowlers are looking forward to resuming our local league bowling next fall. All those interested in this fun filled activity should call our Vice President of Fraternal Affairs, Steve Horvath at 434-3249. Our prayers and good wishes go out to Branch Auditor, Frank Hoffer, who was recently hospitalized. Your prayers for his complete recovery are re­quested. National Director, Albert G. Kertesz, was the recent recipient of a plaque from the “Magyar Club of Dayton” in appreciation of his con-Director Albert G. Kertesz with plaque re­ceived from the Magyar Club of Dayton. Our branch meetings are held the third Monday of each month, September through May, at St. Stephens Hall, 1114 Troy Street at 7:00 P.M. Members are invited to attend. Anne Marie Kertesz Secretary-T reasurer Branch 336 Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Recently Alex Fabiankowitz, Branch Coordinator, was operated on both knee caps and spent 19 days in the hospital. He is recuperating at home and doing fine. Here’s wishing Alex good health. Branch 383 Buffalo, N.Y. Mr. Tibor Kutnyak and his wife Valerie retired on June 1st. Mr. Kut­nyak, member of Buffalo Branch 383 was in business in Buffalo making home made Hungarian sausage, hurka and smoked szalonna, which he sold in his store. He arrived in the U.S. in 1956 from Hungary and continued his trade for 27 years in the Buffalo area. The Hungarians of Buffalo and vicinity and Branch 383 wish Mr. and Mrs. Kutnyak a long retirement and good health. Fraternally, Michael L.
