Activities of The New WPA Branches Branch 8222 "Branch On The Move" Branch 8222 of Wilkinsburg is on the tenth year of our “Respect for Life Project.” We are at St. Joseph Home for the Aged in Garfield every week. Some of the things we do: 1. Two of our members go two days a week to do all the permanents and sets for over 120 women. Beauty Shop —Harriet Butler and Betty Dugan. 2. Our Branch takes up a collection for beauty supplies for the Beauty Shop every month. 3. Some members help at the Snack Bar and Gift Shop. 4. One member does Arts and Crafts for the Gift Shop to sell. Rosalia Brown taking Josephine Gable, a patient, to an activity. 5. We take patients to and from Mass and Lunch. 6. One member is a Reader for Mass. 7. One couple gives supplies every month for the Gift Shop to sell. 8. One member has been Treasurer of the Auxiliary for eight years. 9. All of our members who volunteer help with all the Fund Rais­ing Projects of the Auxiliary. All who volunteer enjoy doing for the residents and the home. Eileen M. Harriet Butler, Sue Junher, Sister Maria Garetti. Administrator and Rosella Brown. Branches 8121 &8126 St. Marys, Pennsylvania January, 1984, the branches held a joint meeting for the Installation of Officers. Fr. Damian OSB, Spiritual Advisor of both branches was the In­stalling Officer. Following the February meeting a gift certificate and special decorated cake was presented to newlyweds Clarence Emert, Vice President of Branch 8121 and Betty Walker Em­uiért, trustee of Branch 8126. They were united in marriage on November 25th. Members of both branches joined in extending Best Wishes to Boots and Betty. March, Men’s Branch 8121 making tentative plans to have a bus trip to Mt. St. George Home at Wellsburg to celebrate their 75th Anniversary. Branch 8121 received their charter September 9, 1909. April 27th was Communion Sunday for both branches, Mass was at 8:15 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Church, with breakfast at the Buccaneer Restaurant attended by 35 members. Special guests were Ron and Sarah Abels from the Pittsburgh Office. The hall was decorated with a ban­ner and a flower centerpiece com­­merating Branch 8121 ’s 75th Anniver­sary. Members of the branch were presented with yellow rose boutineers, made by the ladies of Branch 8126. Three Members Honored By William Penn Ass'n. William Penn Association Branch 8020 McKees Rocks, formerly the Catholic Knights of St. George's Branch 20, McKees Rocks, honored two of its members — Matt Kuehn and AI Telipsky with a luncheon in the Red Bull Inn on Campbells Run Road, Sunday, July 1st. Along with Fred Trello presenting citation passed by House of Representatives to Peter Kuhn. 30
