The headquarters was the fabulous Hyatt Regency in Dearborn and the Bowling Banquet was held Saturday evening in the Regency Ballroom. The Committee started their activities by welcoming the bowlers early Friday and continued at the reception until midnight. The William Penn Fraternal Scholarship Foundation meeting was held at the Hotel on Friday evening and the hospitality rooms were opened from 8:00 P.M. to midnight. All that had attended had food and refreshments that were prepared by the Branch 18 Bowling Tournament Committee. The Tournament function was well attended by members of the Official Family and members of the William Penn branches. Award presented to Mayor Charles Paddock by John Balia, National Vice-President. Music for the banquet was furnished by Frank Boricz and his orchestra. Presentations were made to Mayor Frank Lada by National Vice-President, Louis Varga and Mayor Charles Paddock by National Vice-President, John Balia. Mrs. Julia Danko was presented with a gold medallion for her long and devoted service to the William Penn members and her untiring work with the Hungarians in the Greater Detroit Area. The award was presented to her by former National Secretary, Albert J. Stelkovics. "Congratulations Julia, for a job well done." The Bowling commenced Saturday for team events and trophies were presented at the banquet. The Singles and Doubles events were bowled on Sunday. The William Penn officials wish to thank Branch 18 committee and members for a fine tournament. Louis Varga, National Vice-President presenting an award to Mayor Frank Lada. OFFICIAL NOTICE To comply with Section 2 (15P.S. 8503) of the Pennsylvania Insurance Laws, I, the undersigned, Elmer Charles, National President of the William Penn Association, do hereby issue a call for the convening of the 30th General Convention of the William Penn Association, to be held in the William Penn Hotel, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, commencing Monday, September 12, 1983 at 9:00 A.M. The National Convention is the Supreme Legislative and Governing Body of the Association and, accordingly, included in the Agenda will be proposed By-Law Amendments, election of National Officers, Board of Directors and Members of the Auditing Committee, and the Convention will transact any other business which may properly come before it. All duly elected delegates and those, who by virtue of their office, are members of the National Convention, are cordially requested to appear in the stated place at the state time, bringing their credentials with them.
