Chairman Debreczeni stated the Nominating Committee worked many hours presenting a slate of candidates for the various officers. He introduced the following members of the Nominating Commit­tee: Alex Chobody Mary Huthansel George Horvath William Kovach Anna Marie Kertesz Joseph Toma Andy Toth Steve Varga Steve Vayda Frank Wukovits, Sr. Chairman Debreczeni requested the delegates to give recognition or compensation for his committee. This completes the work of the Nominating Committee. Mr. Charles thanked the Nominating Committee for all their efforts in bringing forth a slate of candidates. 63) Mr. Charles announced the election of the following persons: National President —John Sabo National Vice Presidents- Stephen Lang, Jr. and Albert J. Stelkovics National Secretary — Gus G. Nagy National Treasurer—John Lovász Auditing Committee: Michael Kara Michael Hrabar Louis A. Fodor Violet Lenart Charles Fabian Emma Beganyi Mr. Charles congratulated all the newly elected officers and wished them all God's blessing. 64) Chairman Charles recessed the meeting at 4:30 P.M. until 9:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 14, 1983. 65) Chairman of the Convention Mr. Elmer Charles reconvened the meeting at 10:00 A.M. and same are present. 66) Secretary of the Convention Frank J. Radvany read the Minutes of TuescJjay's meeting. It was moved, seconded and the delegates accepted same as corrected. 67) Chairman Charles announced that there will be a change in the Election Committee since three members of the committee are can­didates for an office. The Committee now comprises of: John McCarthy, Chairman, James Beganyi, James Burinda, Zoltán Cibulas, Joseph Hodick, Mary Miller, and Louis Kubus. 68) Mr. Charles extended greetings and best wishes to Mary and Stephen Mészáros, of New Jersey, who are celebrating their 37th wedding anniversary. He also extended greetings to Mrs. Ron Balia, who is seated in the visitors gallery. 69) Chairman Charles requested the candidates for the Board of Directors to rise and stand facing the delegates as he called the roll so the delegates have an opportunity to see who the candidates are for the office of Board of Directors. Mr. Charles then called the roll of candidates for the office of Alternate Director who stood facing the delegates so the delegates have an opportunity to observe them. Mr. Charles also called the roll of candidates for the office of Alternate Auditing Committee members who stood facing the delegates so the delegates have an opportunity to observe them. 70) National Secretay Gus G. Nagy commenced calling the roll of delegates for the purpose of balloting for the office of Board of Directors, Alternate Board of Direc­tors and Alternate Auditing Commit­tee members. Twelve Board of Directors will be elected along with twelve Alternate Directors' and three Alternate Auditing Committee members. The delegates proceeded to vote. 71) Chairman of the Resolution Committee, Stephen G. Danko, sub­mitted the final report of the Resolu­tions Committee. It was moved, seconded and the delegates accepted the Report of the Resolutions Committee in its entirety. REPORT OF THE RESOLUTIONS COMMITTEE Mr. Chairman, Officers and Delegates! The Resolutions Committee sub­mits the following as its report of recommended resolutions to be adopted by the Convention: WHEREAS, Rev. Imre Kovács, Pastor, United Church of Christ, Springdale, Pa. participated in our opening ceremonies invoking God's blessing, and adding dignity and reverence to our meeting, NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that we extend our sincere and grateful thanks to Rev. Imre Kovács who gave the in­vocation at our opening session and WHEREAS, in the opening ceremonies of the Convention, and the banquet, Mr. George S. Charles, Jr. and Mrs. Barbara Kerékgyártó, led the delegates in singing of the National Anthem and Magyar Himnusz. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the General Conven­tion does thank these two for their presentations. WHEREAS, Richard S. Caliguiri, Mayor, City of Pittsburgh, and Mr. Julius Macker, Past National Presi­dent, extended greetings to the Con­vention members. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that our thanks be ex­pressed to Mayor Caliguiri and Mr. Macker. WHEREAS, Rev. Alex Kovács, United Church of Christ, Homestead, Pa. conducted a most beautiful and inspiring Memorial Service in memory of our deceased members, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Convention ex­press sincere thanks to Rev. Alex Kovács for conducting a truly inspir­ing memorial service. WHEREAS, Msgr. Basil Sereghy, Pastor, Transfiguration Church McKeesport, Pa., offered the invoca­tion at the Convention Banquet, and WHEREAS, this invocation in­stilled in all of us the sense of true brotherhood, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that our appreciation be expressed to Msgr. Sereghy for this invocation. WHEREAS, Rev. Fr. Paul Bolvary, Pastor, St. Ann's Hungarian Church, Hazelwood, Pa. gave the benedic­tion at the Convention Banquet, WHEREAS, Rev. Louis Illés, Pastor, Hungarian Reformed Church of Duquesne, Pa. offered the benediction at the end of the Con­vention, BE IT RESOLVED that our appreciation be expressed to Fr. Bolvary and Rev. Hies. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, during the Convention Banquet we were privileged to hear several excellent greetings, BE IT RESOLVED that this General Convention extend thanks to those who dignified our banquet program.
