Branch 76 Philadelphia, Pa. The following Officers were elected at last month’s meeting: President, Peter A. Wlosak; Vice President, Helen K. Schenkel; Treasurer, Joseph Karoly; Recording Secretary, Dan Rosenfeld; Corresponding Secretary, Elsie Szemes; Auditors, Annabel Karoly and Margaret Rosenfeld. Our Dinner-Dance was a grand success, one of the best ever in every way. It was a pleasure to see our members and many friends, also so many of the younger generation, who seemed to enjoy the Hungarian music as much as we oldtimcrs. Our guests included Mr. and Mrs. Gus Nagy, representing the Home Office. Mr. Nagy gave a short, but interesting speech to our guests. The National Directors attending and representing their local Branches were: Branch 13, Trenton, N.J.—Frank and Elsie Radvany; Branch 19, New Brunswick, N.J.—Michael and Barbara Hegedűs; Branch 22, Roebling, N.J.—Zoltán and Audrey Entri. As in the past, a contribution from the proceeds will be donated to the William Penn Scholarship I und. Just a reminder, anyone can donate to the Fund. For details contact Mr. Stephen Szemes. Phone 543-8876. This would be a good time to review your current policy. There arc so many new alternate and beneficial policies available it would be in your interest to talk them over with Mr. Szemes at the above number. Our sincere sympathies to the families of Mr. Alexander Toth and Mrs. Mary Kratfel who passed away recently, members of Branch 76 for many years. The newly elected Officers wish to extend their Best Wishes for a Healthy and Prosperous New Year to all our members. See you all at our next meeting. Helen Kuzmann Schenkel Branch 89 Homestead, Pa. The old cliche “In unity there’s strength” was found to be quite true when it came to our Branch’s Christmas Party which was held on December 3rd at the Duquesne Golf Association in West Mifflin. Since combining our parties with Branches 226, 71 and 34 we find that being united has made our parties very enjoyable and it permits the members to get acquainted with members of the other branches thus enabling them to enjoy each others company which otherwise would not be possible. The children were entertained by Marco the Magnificient Magician who kept them in awe with his many tricks. The Officers of the branches distributed the refreshments to the children and while awaiting the arrival of Santa Claus, the children sang Christmas Carols. Of course, the most important event was the arrival of Santa. The expression on the children’s faces when he entered the room really was something to see. Santa mingled with the children and then distributed a silver dollar and a box of candy to each child and a box of candy to the adults. Branch 89 would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Vice President, Mr. Gus G. Nagy for the time and effort he put forth in arranging the Christmas Party. Also our thanks to the following members who were instrumental in making our party a success: President John S. Toth, Sr., Mrs. Elaine Toth, Mrs. Ann Walick, Mr. George E. Walick, Mrs. Ruth Toth and Branch Manager Mr. Elmer W. Toth. The Officers and members of Branch 89 would like to extend their Best Wishes for a Very Happy New Year to our family at the Home Office and to all the members of the Association. Mr. Elmer W. Toth, Branch Manager Many a heart will beat alone with thoughts no ear will hear. Valentine’s Day lets love be known so sound off . . . won’t you, Dear? Branch 1 29 Columbus, Ohio The Annual Children’s Christmas Party which was held at the V.F.W. Firefighter’s Club Home on December 16, 1978, was a great success. Mr. David George, Branch 129 President opened the event. A short program followed. Refreshments were served and Santa was on hand to pass out candy and gifts to the children. A grand time was had by all. A lot of credit goes to Home Office who helped defray part of the cost of the Christmas Party. Election of Officers was held at the December meeting and the Officers for the year 1979 are: David George, President; Lou Miller, Vice President; Irene Voss, Sceretary-Treasurer; John Gaal and Charles Boso, Auditors.
