A very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year is being wished to everyone. Kubovics Elvira 19 New Brunswick, N. J. Our Annual Children’s Christmas Party was held on Sunday, December 9th, 1973 at the Bayard Street Pres­byterian Church Hall. Approximately 300 persons attended, 210 children plus adults. Branch President Joseph Arvay greeted everyone and then presented National Director Michael Hegedűs who also greeted averyone and spoke on the benefit of being a member of the best Insurance Organization in the country — and for the young ones to remember that they have the best Insu­rance Policy that money can buy. He then introduced General Agent A1 Szur who also extended greetings and offered his assistance on general service and sales for William Penn members. The program for the afternoon was a Puppet Show and a Christmas Story film. The singing of Christmas Carols, from the books provided by the Home Office, was accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Evelyn Orlick. Ever faithful Santa Claus appeared, our own Ed Miller, who enjoys his roll in making the children happy at this season each year. A gift was given each juvenile member also candy and refreshments. The adults also partook of the refeshments. Chairman Lillian Thomas and com­mittee members helped make the Party enjoyable. The following participated; Joseph Arvay, Anthony Vass, Alex Hor­vath, Irene Evans, Elizabeth Gyor­­gydeak, John Hegedűs, James Marko, Al Szur, Barbara Hegedűs and Michael Hegedűs. The New Jersey Scholarship Dinner Dance will be held on Saturday, April 20th, 1974 in the Knights of Columbus Hall 109 Morrisey Avenue, Avenel, N.J. with the participation of all the New Jersey Branches, the music will be ren­dered by the Kara — Nemeth Orchestra. Barbara Hegedűs, Reporter 24 Chicago, 111. Senior Members Honored On October 13, 1973 Branch 24 honored its Senior Members 70 years of age and over. Approximately 15 seniors were present. Branch President Charles Akai greeted the guests, wished them many more years of good health, hap­piness and a long life. Vice President Joseph Revay enter­tained our guests singing several beauti­ful Hungarian melodies. After a short program each guest was presented a beautiful red carnation. A delicious Hungarian dinner was served and en­joyed by all. We are sure all present on this occasion spent a memorable evening. Approximately 41 Children attended. I am happy to report our party was a huge success. Branch President Charles Akai greeted our little juvenile members and guests, promised them an enjoyable af­ternoon. The children then all joined in singing Christmas Carols. Santa soon arrived with presents and goodies for all the children. Refreshments were served to all present Charles Akai again did a good job as good old Santa. The Officers and Members of Branch 24 are grateful to the Home Office for their generous contribution in helping make our party a huge success. Branch 24 held its election of Officers Saturday, December 8, 1973 the follo­wing officers were elected for 1974. Just a reminder, Branch 24 holds its regular monthly meeting every second Saturday of each month 8:00 P. M. at Odd Fellows Hall, 119th Wallace Street, Chicago, 111. Please join us. The Officers and Members of Branch 24 wish all a very prosperous happy and healthy New Year. Betty Akai Corresponding Secretary 27 Toledo, Ohio The Christmas Party for the children of Branch 27 in Toledo was held on Dec. 16 in St. Stephen’s church hall. Ice cream, cookies, candy and soft drinks were served to the children and coffee to the parents. Santa Claus made an appearance and distributed gifts to the children. Branch President Mr. John Nagy introduced me as the new Branch Manager. Pictures were taken and a good time was had by all. Sincerely, John A. Zam, General Agent 28 Youngstown, Ohio Our annual Children’s Christmas Party was held at St. Stephen’s of Hungary Church Hall, Saturday, December 15, 1973 at 2:00 P.M. Santa Claus was welcomed by the children and their parents, as he joined in with the carol singing. Refreshement and treats were enjoyed by all. All the children received new dollar bills, along with box of chocolate candy. The Youngstown Karate Group, put on a short entertainment, featuring 2 young boys, showing off their skill and talents in Karate. A special thanks to Home Office for their generous check. They are lengthy to mention individually, but officers know each and all of you. An honest effort is made to continue, hol­ding a Mass or Prayer Service for our deceased members, twice a year.
