Steve Gall, Branch Manager 56 Detroit, Mich. The William Penn Association of Branch 56 had a very successful Christmas Party on Sunday, December 2, 1973 at the Holy Cross School Hall. Thirty-two happy youngsters, along with parents and grand-parents enjoyed the fun filled afternoon. Program Chairman, Stephen Jurko, welcomed everyone and in turn introduced the Branch 56 Officers — President: Mr. John Horcsik, Vice- President: Mr. Frank Nagy, Secretary: Mary Molnár, and Auditor: Mrs. John Horcsik. We had the pleasure of the presence of Mr. William Kovács and his lovely wife Viola and daughter Karen, sharing the afternoon. Mr. Kovács is General Agent of the Regional Office with offices at 20600 Eureka Road in Taylor, Michigan. Also sharing in the festivities was Mrs. Mathilda Jagadics who is the Regional Office Clerk. The program got underway with the lively voices of the youngsters singing all the beautiful Christmas Carols. Next a film was presented. Then came the big moment — the arrival of Santa Claus! With a great big Ho! Ho! Ho! and there he was ready to give out gifts and goodies to the children. The children were delighted and anxious to tell Santa just exactly what they want for Christmas, hoping Santa will remember when he gets back to his work-shop at the North Pole. While the children were enjoying their refreshments and parents and grandparents were busy conversing with one another Santa nicely disappeared away up into the skies with all his reindeers and leaving pleasant and happy thoughts with all the youngsters. We can say the afternoon was a very pleasant one. The children were just beautiful and very well behaved. As for the parents and grandparents, it was nice to see the acquaintances forming. We sincerely thank the National Home Office for sponsoring the Children’s Christmas Party. Thanks too, to the hostesses for their delicious homemade de pastries — Helen Horcsik, Lola Koroknay, Mary Molnár and Mary Nagy. Thanks to Mr. Horcsik for decorating the well shaped Christmas Tree, to Mr. Nagy for manning the refreshment stand, to Miss Erika Koroknay in assisting Santa pass out goodies to all children.
