VARGA Vice President On Saturday, April 28, 1973 more than three-hundred fifty people joined in a Testimonial Dinner to our esteemed Vice President Mr. LOUIS L. VARGA. A fine speaking program was arranged for the occasion by the General Committee. Mr. Andrew R. Balogh, Field Manager East, General Chairman introduced Mr. Frank Bero, National Director and President of Branch 1, Bridgeport, Conn., who welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Elmer Ondy led the assembled guests in the singing of the Star Spangled Banner and Magyar Himnusz. Invocation was by Rt. Rev. Stephen M. NUMBER 3 During the 30th National Bowling Tournament in Cleveland, Ohio the William Penn Scholarship Foundation Inc., held its 1st National Scholarship Dinner- Dance Saturday evening May 26, 1973 in the Grand Ballroom of the Statler Hilton Hotel. More than 800 William Penn members, friends of the Foundation and several Cleveland and Cuyahoga County dignitaries attended the event to make this first venture social and fraternal success. A very fine dinner was served and the orchestra provided a varied and continuous dance music until closing time. The program was purposely arranged Hon. RALPH J. Mr. Elmer Charles, newly elected President of the Foundation, extended greetings on behalf of the Officers, Directors and members of the Foundation. He announced that during the afternoon’s annual meeting of the Foundation $4,486.00 was pledged in donations. He urges everyone to use the pledge envelopes at each table to help swell the Foundation’s Treasury. (Continued on page 2)
