Somogyi each thanked the Board for their generosity and pledged to continue with their best effort to serve the interest of the Association. 19. Moved, seconded, and the Board agreed to the following dates on which to hold their Board Meetings in 1973: March 19, 20 and 21, 1973 June 18, 19 and 20, 1973 September 10, 11 and 12, 1973 December 17, 18 and 19, 1973 20. Director Kertesz, Administrator of the Bowling Tournament, reported that the Statler Hilton Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio has been reserved for the forthcoming Bowling Tournament and Scholarship Days. The Star Dust Lanes has also been reserved for the Bowling Tournament. Moved, seconded, and the Board authorized the Executive Committee to work along with the Officers of the Scholarship Foundation to prepare a program for the Scholarship Days which will be incorporated with the Bowling Tournament. 21. Director Hegedűs and National Secretary Albert J. Stelkovics, who were delegates to the American Hungarian Federation Convention, submitted verbal reports to the Board of Directors of the proceedings of this Convention. 22. The Board of Directors approved the following resolution as requested by the New York Insurance Department. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, CHAPTER XIV. THE PROPERTY OF THE ASSOCIATION provides in the last paragraph the following: “Deposits handled for minors in the Trust Account, if not claimed within six years after the minor has reached majority, shall revert to the Association. THE INSURANCE SALESMAN “When he asked if I’d like to discuss life insurance I guess he didn’t expect me to say yes!” Deposits held for unknown beneficiaries, if not claimed and proof of the rightful beneficiary is not made within six years after the death of the member, shall also revert to the Association. Trust Accounts shall be handled by the National Secretary. Trust Accounts which have reverted to the life benefit fund shall be payable, without interest, to the rightful owners upon presentation of proper proofs. WHEREAS, the New York Insurance Department Life Bureau ruling states that such unclaimed funds must be held in general or mortuary fund under a permanent inventory. NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Board of Directors in regular quarterly meeting assembled in Pittsburgh, Pa. this 12th diay of December, 1972, that all unclaimed funds which have reverted to the life benefit fund of the Association, after six years, be permanently inventoried not only for New York State members, but for members of all States. 23. The Board entered into discussion of providing an installation ceremony. Moved, seconded, and the Board approved the following installation ceremony. INSTALLATION CEREMONY (National Officers - Directors - Auditors Branch Officers) The installing officer shall say: “You have been elected to a position of trust in the William Penn Association. I am sure that you fully understand the duties of the position to which you have been elected. Do you solemnly promise to accept the office to which you have been elected and to discharge the duties of that office to the best of your ability and in accordance with the By-Laws of the WILLIAM PENN ASSOCIATION, State and Federal laws? Since you have replied in the affirmative I now, by the authority vested in me as Installing Officer, declare you to be duly installed in the Office to which you were elected.” 24. The Board of Directors acknowledged with sincere appreciation receipt of letters of thanks received from the White House for the best wishes which the Association extended to President Richard Nixon and Vice President Spiro Agnew. 25. The Board acknowledged receipt of letters of thanks from the Stephen Lang, Sr. family, Dr. Andrew Kovács’ family, Leonard C. Staisey family and the George Sa-ss family on their recent bereavement. 26. The Board further acknowledged receipt of letters of thanks and appreciation from former employees, Frank Cher, John Hegedűs, Margaret BereS and Mrs. Anna Green, for the recent decision of the Board of Directors to increase their pension benefits. 27. National Secretary Albert J. Following a discussion by the Board, the Board did not approve of membership in the Pennsylvania Insurance Federation. 28. Moved, seconded and the Board requested the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors to consider various programs which would involve the youth of our Association in various activities including, but not limited to, ping-pong tournaments, chess tournaments, revised children’s Christmas parties, summer camps, etc. 29. National President Elmer Charles thanked the Board Members and National Officers for the fine cooperation which was extended to him in the absence of the Board Chairman and for the excellent deliberation which came forth at this meeting. He expressed thanks and appreciation for the deep concern and prayers we extended on behalf of Vice President John P. Balia. He hoped we will all put our best efforts forward to help make our Association progress. He hoped the concerns of the National Officers for the Association will be everyone’s concern. We should all go out and generate more business for that is the only program which will make our Association prosper and grow. The Association cannot afford a reduction in premium dollar income and it is the responsibility of each and everyone of us to see to it that we increase production. President Charles expressed best wishes for a Happy, Healthy, Holiday Season and a Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year to the families, children and the membership at large. 30. Director Rev.
