Branch 13 meeting for election of Dele­gates for the 1971 Convention will be held on Sunday, June 6, 1971, 2 P. M. at the Grand Ballroom Auditorium on Beatty and Grand Street, Trenton, N. J. There will be two teams from Branch 13 represented at the 1971 National Bowl­ing Tournament and Fellowship Days being held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 29th and 30th. We would like to wish our bowlers the best of luck and hoping to see all winners. Branch 13 will hold their Annual Dinner Dance on November 6th, 1971, at the Levittown Firehouse No. 1, Tullytown- Bristol Road, Levittown, Pa. Last year everyone attending the affair, held at the same place, complimented that there was plenty to eat and drink, so make plans to come to another enjoyable Dinner Dance on November 6th. More details on this affair in the next issue of William Penn Life. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Nicho­las Vágott on their 50th Wedding Anni­versary. Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Vágott of Trenton were honored at a celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary given by their daughter, Miss Margaret I. Vágott. The couple were married at the Hungarian Reformed Church of Trenton on March 13, 1921. Sorry for missing the February issue of William Penn Life, but your reporter did not submit his report until after the dead­line and my sincere apologies to all of you. Now to bring you all up to date during the winter months. Our annual Champagne Ball last February, was a huge success and we at Branch 18 want to thank all of you wonderful people for helping us make this affair so successful, Branch Officers, members and all you gals too. We also wish to express our sincere appreciation to all of the National Officers, Board of Directors, and distinguished guests for taking time out to honor us with your presence. Coming Events: Take note all of you bowlers from around the country. Detroit is again ready for taking first place at our next annual Bowling Tournament and Fellowship Days at Pittsburgh over the Memorial Day weekend, so sharpen up you other bowlers! — Mark this date down, Sunday, August 15th. Place, Magyar Park at Estral Beach; Event, our Summer Picnic, music by Frank Boricz from Cleveland, Ohio, Good Hungarian Food, Fank, and plenty of refreshments for all, so make a special note of this date. Recently, Branch 18 and the Ladies Auxiliary each voted to donate $200.00 to the Hungarian Olympic Fund to help our Hungarian Athletes at the Summer Olympic Games to be held this summer. On Saturday, April 17th, your reporter had the pleasure of attending the wedding of Darlene Danko, daughter of Director Stephen and Julia Danko, who became the wife of István Szatmári, who just recently arrived from Hungary. True to our Hun­garian tradition, the wedding and recep­tion was very impressive and with hun­dreds of guests in attendance. Distinguish­ed guests were, Directors Frank Wukovits, Louis Vassy, Stephen Ivancso, Julius Macker, National Auditing Committee Member Albert Kertesz, Caspar Papp, Past Chairman of the Auditing Committee and their lovely wives. Your reporter also represented the Auditing Committee as Secretary along with my lovely wife Dottie. We regretfully missed the presence of William Kohut, Chairman of the National Auditing Committee who at the last moment became ill and could not at­tend. We missed you Bill and Helene! Mrs. Margaret Veszprémi, President of the Ladies Auxiliary is back home again from the hospital and is recovering nicely. As in the past, Margaret will again be active with the Ladies Auxiliary doing OFFICIAL NOTICE To comply with the provisions of the Association’s By-Laws, I, the undersigned, Elmer Charles, National President of the William Penn Fraternal Association, do hereby issue a call for the convening of the 27th National Convention of the William Penn Fraternal Association, to be held in Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, commencing Monday, September 13, 1971 at 10:00 A.M. The National Convention is the Supreme Legislative and Governing Body of the As­sociation and, accordingly, included in the Agenda will be proposed By-Law Amendments, election of National Officers, Board of Directors and Members of the Auditing Committee, and the Convention will transact any other business which may properly come before it. All duly elected delegates and those, who by virtue of their office are members of the National Convention, are cordially requested to appear in the stated place at the stated time, bring their credentials with them.
