The Officers and Members of Branch 13 are fortunate to have a young progressive salesman, starting his career with William Penn, which is to be interrupted for a period of six months in order for him to complete his military obligation. Dr. Nagy congratulates Ed Proniewski. Under the supervision of our Agency Manager, Dr. Arpad Nagy, his first month with William Penn, he produced $45,000 Life with $1,000 premium. This young man is to be congratulated on his progressiveness in pursuing a career that serves the benefit of the members and has a future for him as a life insurance salesman. Agency Manager, Dr. Nagy and members hopefully expect him to return to serve the members of Branch 13. Good Luck, Ed. The Branch 13 Dinner Dance held on March 15th was such a big success, that the Committee has already made arrangements to hold another affair on October 11, 1969. Members and friends will be properly informed about this up-coming Dinner- Dance you won’t want to miss, because the committee promises an affair to be long remembered by everyone attending. Miss Margaret Kovach, Reporter 18 Detroit, Mich. The 1969 William Penn Bowling Tournament and Fellowship Days is now history and Branch 18 was well represented with a total of nine teams. And since the official prize winners have not yet been announced, we do not know if Detroit took all of the prizes or not. However we did have one “on the spot” winner. Betty Toth received a trophy for bowling over 200, congratulations Betty. Ged. Tukacs ended up with a 701 in the team events and not bad for his first tournament. I will not go into details about the tournament and fellowship days inasmuch — the results will appear in the William Penn Life as reported by the Tournament Committee. However, speaking for the Detroit group, your reporter would like to say that we all enjoyed the tournament, dancing, sightseeing and fellowship with the other William Penn members in New York City. Ged Tukacs and his wife Mary made elaborate preparations in their hotel suite to honor Steve and Anna Toth in observance of their 36th wedding anniversary and all of us there toasted them with champagne. At the local bowling level here in Detroit, Joseph and June Gross along with Jerry and Jane Kopp were the champions in our Mixed League and for next year we have made plans to have 20 teams in our Mixed League and hope to see all of the former Mixed League bowlers again. Past branch president Marton Marton who suffered a heart attack is back home and recovering. Another Illustrious Member, Stephen Lukacs is also on the recovery list after a serious illness. Our wishes for their speedy recovery and hope to see their familiar faces at our regular monthly meeting soon. Recently a former Congressman from Michigan, Mr. Alvin Bentley passed away. Mr. Bentley was a William Penn member and in former years honored us with his presence at many branch functions. Branch 18 in conjunction with the William Penn sports club are planning a childrens picnic in August and it will be a “bring your basket and beverage” picnic. There will be prizes for the children who take part in the games and the adults will partake in other pleasurable activities. Further information will be forthcoming in our local Hungarian paper, so watch for the exact date, time and place. Here is a bit of special news for all persons of Hungarian origin. From May 15th to Sept. 15th, 1970, Hungarians all over the world will be commemorating the 1000th anniversary of St. Ste-6
