Vice President of Branch 48, New York City, Honored On Saturday, October 5, 1968 Branch 48 of New York City sponsored a very successful Testimonial Dinner and Dance at St. Mary’s Church of The Byzantine (246 E. 15th St.) honoring their Vice President Margaret Marhan at which her family and friends came from far and near to help her celebrate this joyous occasion for her many faithful years of service. Mary Huthansel acting as mistress of ceremonies promised a short and sweet program—and it really was at that.— The American and Hungarian National Anthems sung by Walter Huthansel and Frank Demeter. Both men did a beauti­ful job in leading the audience. Invoca­tion by Rev. Emeric Szlezak, O.F.M., from Church of St. Stephen of Hungary. After which a most enjoyable meal was served. At the conclusion of dinner, Director Joseph Toma conveyed best wishes of the National Officers and Board of Directors. He also introduced the following represesntatives from var­ious branches and organizations present: Director and Mrs. Michael Hegedűs (Br. 19, New Brunswick, N. J.) National Au­ditor Zoltán Emeri (Br. 22, Roebling, N. J.); National Auditor László Kereszti (Br. 48, New York) ; Director and Mrs. Frank Radvany Jr. (Br. 13, Trenton, N. J.); Former Director and Mrs. Frank Mrs. Margaret Marhan accepts pin and con­gratulations from National Vice President Louis Varga. Radvany Sr.; Agency Manager Dr. and Mrs. Arpad Nagy; Branch President Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Vidám (Br. 70, New­ark, N. J.); Branch Manager Mr. and Mrs. James Emody, and many local Hungarian societies were present and introduced. Director Toma then intro­duced National Vice Pres, and Mrs. Louis Varga and then called upon him to present the Association’s Service Scroll and Pin to our Honored guest. After a most inspiring presentation by Mr. Var­ga, Mrs. Marhan expressed her heartfelt thanks for the honor bestowed upon her, and assured everyone that she would work as hard in the future as she did in the past. After which Branch Pressi­­dent Albert Ibos presented a gift from the branch in token of appreciation and thanked the mistress of ceremonies Mary Huthansel and the dinner com­mittee who worked so diligently for the success of this wonderful affair. Benediction followed by Rev. Gabor Csordás, Hungarian Reformed Ghurch, 239 E. 82nd St., New York City. After which the assembled guests danced until the wee hours of the morning.
