SZÖLLŐSI-NA G Y The eleventh hydrological forecasting conference of the Danubean countries was held in Bucharest, Romania, in October 26—29, 1982. Ninety two participants from 8 countries presented 72 papers. The topics discussed ranged from the methodological issues of establishing hydrological forecasting data bases to the economic evaluation of the impact of hydrologie prediction. The main interest was centred around the problems of short-term operational forecasts, altogether 30 papers were submitted to this topic. Hungarian hydrologists presented 19 papers overwiewing the results of the nationwide Hydrological Forecasting Project. (The project is discussed in general in this Journal, No. 1, 1982.) As there was no pre-published conference proceeding the Hungarian contributions can be requested from the Editor of this Journal.
