Dulié Zoological Institut« Faculty of National Sciences, Zagreb In one of our previous papers /DULIÓ,1960/,we described the most northern locality of occurrence of Apodemus mysta­cinus epimela s in Europe /central Dalmatia near Sibenik/. The biocenological research, carried out between 25-27 April, 1965, resulted in the material of 3 specimens from the new locality of this species in Europe. The site tinder discussion lies about 180 km farther to the north than the one mentioned. The territory examined is the western littoral part of Croatia, in the region called Vinodolî the new loca­lity is in the vicinity of the villages Griáane and Bribir /near Crikvenica, and about 40 km south of the city Rijeka /Plume//, and represents a valley, stony and rocky toward the continental part of the region. Because of some floristic elements of continental origin in the plant communities. It might be regarded as a continental oasis. The area is par­tially under the influence of continental climate. The exact habitat of A.mystacinu s are rocks and stones near the vil­lage Antonovo-Baretiéi. In Yugoslavia, the broad-toothed field mouse inhabits the small belt of karst region along the coast of the Adria­tic Sea and southern Macedonia.
