THIS IS YOUR VERHOVAY BOWLING TOURNAMENT PAGE 2 Verhovay Journal April 20, 1955. Home Office Snowed Under by Avalanche of Bowling Tournament Entries i (Continued from Page 1) would appreciate it if the Chicago and area members would buy their tickets as soon as possible, as we are looking forward to an early sellout. We do not want anyone disappointed trying to make a last-minute reservation. Branches over all the country recently were forwarded non-bowler reservation blanks on which to report Victory Dinner-Dance reservations for those non-bowlers who have not yet made their reservations. It is important that members who must travel d: stances see their branch managers soon for the reservation cards. Entertainment for the affair will be the best obtainable. SEPESSY AND HIS ORCHESTRA, a fine group of Chicago Hungarian musicians, will play for the Victory Dinner-Dance. This orchestra is versatile —. will satisfy every musical and dancing taste. In addition, other stellar entertainers will appear on the program By the way, Mr. Sepessy — and we are as proud as a cock to say this — is a good Verhovay member. ATTENTION: VERHOVMEMBERS AND FRIENDS IN CHIC ADO AND VICINITY The’ National Tournament Executive Committee wishes to announce that it is looking for men and women to work as score keepers during the tourney. The Chicago members know that they will have fellow members visiting iheir fnii city from such far-off points as New York, to he represented by Bvanih 48, and Los Angeles, to be represented by Branch 525 under the capable leadership of their branch manager, Director Alexander Gyuiay. Chicago Branches 15 and 50 have gone to great lengths to make this tournament the most successful. Together the two branches have entered about 30 teams (they intend to keep the prize money and the fabulous trophies right at home). Franco 130, East Chicago, Indiana, on the outskirts of Chicago, also will send teams an.I non-bowlers. The Chicago branches are sponsoring this year’s tournament album (see elsewhere in this issue). U would be a right gesture for our many branches and members to purchase space in this tournament album. TURNFR — FALDSSY — PHILLIPS MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN PROCEEDING WITH MUCH SUCCESS IN CHICAGO AND EAST CHICAGO, AS WELL AS NATIONALLY If there is one*man who is putting forth much effort and time and money to promote the nationwide campaign, it is Frank J. Wukovits, Supervisor of Field V, which embja^es the 1955 tournament site. Field Supervisor Wukovits has worked long hard hours with his district managers, promoting the membership drive which honors three Verhovay Directors The long and faithful service of Joseph Turner, recently deceased, Aloysius C. Falussy and Richard J. Phillips is known throughout Verhovay. Much of the progress of our organization is attributable to these three Directors. They strove or are striving- for the betterment and growth of Verhovay, and the great honor they most deserre is cooperation in spirit and in action. Field Supervisor Wukovits has ably directed the efforts of his aids, District Managers Ernest C. Tny'or, Frank T- Kajdi and Michael Tothfalusi. In our opinion, these four Verhovay field men shall establish a record hard to beat. All Chicago and East Chicago members are urged to do their utmost in cooperating with their Field Supervisor, their District Managers and their Branch Managers -toward the successful conclusion of the Turner-Falussy-Phillips Membership Campaign. NOTE 10 THE BOWLERS Schedules for the howling contests shall be put in the mail as soon as possible. Tournament Secretary Dillingcr ana Tournament Administrator Sabo have met to try to put together a schedule as nearly as possible satisfactory to all. It is a hard assignment and possibly some bowlers may be dissappointed. However, be assured that everything possible within our means shall be done to please all our players.
