Home Office Snowed Under by Avalanche of Bowling Tournament Entries Victory Dinner-l'an'e Tickets Now on Sale Conrad Hilton Hotel Reservations Now Being Made With pride we are bursting at the seams! Why? Because we have broken, the all-time record for five man and five woman team entries to our 12th Annual Verhovav National Ten Pin Bowling Tournament which will be played May 28-29, 1955, Saturday and Sunday, in Chicago, Illinois. 115 teams have been entered in what promises to be the most exciting bowling tourney ever sponsored by our society ar.d, from the size of this record-breaking entry, Tournament Secretary P. R. Dillinger and his staff of capable bowling technicians v.ill have a tremendous task getting the compact schedule run off in two days. The previous all-time high team entry record was» set in 1951 also in the Windy City,, when 91 teams nar1- ticipated. There can be no doubt that the real center of Verhovay bowling is the midwest, where this sport rates very high generally. The National Tournament Executive Committee, whose members are Vice President Dr. Andrew Kovács its Chairman, Director Richard J. Phillip? and the Tournament Administrator vv'io is National Auditor John Sabo, has announced that, just as in. 1PM at New York, the learn events will be rolled on the first day, while the doubles and singles will be rolled on the second day. Saturday evening will be reserved for the big social and funmaking festivities that go with the Victorv Dinner-Dance. One of the nice things about this year’s event is the fact that both the hotel headquarters and the bowling alleys are within two blocks ot each other. This tournament con'd appropriately be named the “Downtown Loop” Tournament. The easy location of both places makes the whole sports and social program exceedingly convenient. There will be no waiting for buses, schedules to worry about, hardly any'directions to keep in mind. Bowler and spectator will be able within a few minutes to go from hotel to alleys, or vice versa. Yes, the 1955 setup is ideal. The bowling matches will be> he'd at Congress Recreation Center, 33 East Congress Parkway, at the southwest corner of Congress and Wabasn Streets There are 52 alleys on three floors avu.lable for our bowlers. Some ol' the finest tourneys in Chicago nave been staged here.
