DISTRICT 34 DAYTON, O. The post-convention meeting of District 34 was called to order by Alex Kochmar Sr., appointed Chairman Pro Tom by District Chairman Dr. Joseph H. Prince, who was unable to attend due to the fact that he was at the hospital at the bedside of his ailing father. The district session, held on Sunday, November 9th, 1947, at St. Emerick’s Hall, 639 Dakota Street, Dayton, O., was duly opened at 2:30 P.M. Present were Louis Mandreky and -John Bokor Jr., of Branch 412, Flint, Mich., Andrew J. Boonie and Mrs. Daniel Robb of Branch 429, Dear- born, Mich., Julius Polichany of Branch 362, Dayton, O., and Mrs. Jolán Lucas, District Recorder. Chairman Kochmar instructed the delegates that the November District Session was called for the purpose of ratifying the amendments to the Constitution and By-laws adopted by the XXI. National Convention, and according to a letter received by the District Recorder must be accepted as a WHOLE, and cannot be partly accepted or partly rejected. Since District 34 was entitled to three votes only, careful consideration must be given to the reading of the By-laws as amended by the Convention. After carefully studying and discussing the By-laws, the district delegates unanimously vote to accept them as they were amended. The District Recorder’s attention was called to the fact that Julius Polichany and Dr. Joseph H. Prince were entitled to an additional per diem fee for the June district sessions as they travelled more than six hours to Detroit from Dayton. These amounts were added to the current expense statement. The district delegates voted to pay Chairman Kochmar the per diem fee entitled to the District Chairman. The district delegates also gave a vote of thanks to Branch Manager Julius Polichany for the free use of the hall where the meeting was held. Upon chairman’s request the district recorder reads the minutes of the last district session which are unanimously approved and attested by the meeting. The actions or the Convention are considered next and after a detailed discussion of each item, with enlightening explanations given by the two delegates, the actions of the XXL National Convention are un-’ animously approved. Chairman requests the recordingsecretary to read the letter's received by the district. The circular letter of Branch 64 is read. District 15 objects to and protests against the releasing of circular letters in such manner on the ground that they offend the national officers as well as all of the delegates to the National Convention and the entire membership of the Association. District 15 appeals to all branches and districts not to mail in the future similarly offensive communications, because the delegates are certainly aware of what they have voted upon. This letter, the meeting declares, was sent to the wrong address: it should have been mailed to certain countries in Europe. The district recorder requests the delegates to secure suport within their own branches for the Verhovay sports and to send 10 cents for each member for one year to the Home Office for this purpose. He also requests the delegates, to promote in their branches the Verhovay Fund For Crippled Children in order that each branch may contribute to this fund according to its ability.
