When the question was put to the meeting, the 47 members present, greatly agitated, unanimously resolved to reject the amendments to the By-laws and, thus, by an unanimous vote of “No”, Branch 159, representing District 3/B., wishes the By-laws to remain unchanged. Branch 132, South Bend, Ind., representing District 26, instructed me to advise the Home Office that the actions taken and amendments adopted by the National Convention held in 1947 have been fully approved by District 26/B. MINUTES, taken at the meeting of District 14, held on November 16th, 1947, in Gary, W. Va. Present were: Emery Sziich, District Chairman, Peter Kovács, District Recorder, Casper Nagy, Joseph Magyar, George Roth, Louis David, Joseph Dobos, Louis Toth, John Bernath, Alexander Fodor, Louis Lővincz, Andrew Ander, and Joseph Szorcsik, district repre- j sentatives. Chairman calls the meeting to order and requests the district recorder to read the minutes taken at the district session held on June 29th, 1947. The minutes are read, I unanimously approved and attested. Chairman requests the district recorder to read the amendments to the By-laws adopted by the National Convention. The amended articles are read, seriatim discussed by the representatives and explained by- Louis David, delegate to the National Convention. Then the matter is submitted tó a vote by the chairman and the delegates attending the meeting unanimously vote in favor of approving the amendments to the By-laws. Thanking the representatives for ' their attention and cooperation throughout the peaceful and friendly session, the chairman adjourns the meeting. Minutes, taken at the meeting of District 8 of the V.F.I.A., held on November 16th, 1947, in Coraopolis, Pa. District chairman Moses Bokor calls the meeting to order at 10:15 A.M., and extends a cordial welcome to the representatives. George Fijo, President of Branch 352, welcomes the delegates to Branch 352. Chairman requests the delegates to present their credentials. The folowing are present: Andrew Toth from Branch 12, Mrs. Frank Hegedűs from Branch 62, Michael K. Molnár from Branch 147, Michael Jakab and Leopold Meixner from Brand) 163, Anton Borsody and John Borsody from Branch 222, Frank Arnold from Branch 262, Louis Karpy from Branch 264, John Toth from Branch 277, Balazs Csonka from Branch 285, Moses Bokor from Branch 345, Andrew SMadics and George Fijo from Branch 352, Michael Balogh from Branch 418, Andrew Kucher from Branch M.23, Louis Pater from Branch M.29, Frank Nagy from Branch M.77, Paul Marton and Joseph Horvath from Branch M.106, John Buksa from Branch M.119 and Andrew Forgács from Branch M.144. Branch 466 did not send a representative to the session. Chairman calls upon Andrew Szládics district recorder to read the minutes of the last district session. The . Minutes are read, approved and attested to by the signatures of Anton Borsody and Paul Marton. The delegates to the National Convention present their reports on the proceedings of the convention. Fellow-member Bokor advises the meeting in regards to the matter of sick benefits, Michael K. Molnár reports on the case of Joseph Darago, and Andrew Szladies speaks on the subject of the new promotional system. The delegates discuss at length the increasing of the salaries of the national officers and the manner in which the aged members had been treated. After prolonged debate Andrew Kucher move? that District 8 approve the amendments to the by-laws adopted by the National Convention. The motion is duly seconded and unanimously carried. The delegaes decide that the next session again be held in Coraopolis, Pa. The expenses of the session totalled $443.80. There being no further business, chairman thanks the representatives tor their efforts and adjourns the meeting at 1:45 P.M. Following the meeting, the ladies of Branch 352, Coraopolis, Pa,, served an excellent dinner to the district representatives and other members, for which they are accorded a vote of thanks. The pleasant gathering conculded at 5 o’clock. ANDREW SZLADICS, district recorder. DISTRICT 8/C. PITTSBURGH, PA. MINUTES, taken at the meeting of District 8/C., representing Branch 34, Pittsburgh, Pa., at the Hungarian Home, 120 Flowers Avenue, on November 23rd, 1947, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. District, chairman Nicholas Kadar cannot attend the meeting due to illness and, therefore, the meeting is opened by branchmanager and district recorder George Mészáros who extends a cordial welcome to the members attending the meeting. He explains the importance of the meeting and advises the membership that only the amendments to the By-laws adopted by the XXI. National Convention must be discussed and voted upon at this time. George Mészáros reads the- text of the amended by-laws furnished by the Home Office. Several questions are asked by the members in the course of the reading and detailed information is given in regards to all inquiries. After the conclusion of the reading and the discussions George Mészáros, manager, puts the matter to a vote. DISTRICT 9 BARNESBORO, PA. MINUTES of the meeting of District 9, held in Barnesboro, Pa., on November 23, 1917. The meeting is called to order by Andrew Sije chairman who requests the delegates to speak only after due deliberation on the business of the meeting. MINUTES, taken at the meeting of District 23 of the Verhovay F. I. Association, held on November 16th, 1947, in Richmond, Ind. Nicholas Kolentus, President of Branch 344, extends a cordial welcome to the representatives and expresses his appreciation of the honor of being host to the district session. Branches M.73, M.21, M.130, 41, 166 and 282 are not-represented. Chairman calls for the reading of the minutes which are approved and attested. Letters addressed to the district are read and acknowledged. Chairman cals for the presentation of the amendments to the Bylaws adopted by the National Convention. The amendments are read by the district recorder and seriatim explained by the delegates to the National Convention. Various items are objected to by the. district delegates, whereupon further information is furnished by the convention delegates as to the reasons because of which these articles were adopted. The amendments, then, are put to a vote by the chairman and, after some discussion, all the amendments are unanimously approved by the representatives of District 23. Upon order by the chairman the per diem fees and travelling expenses of the delegates are recorded by the district secretary. The next session of the district will be held in Cincinnati, O. There being no further business chairman adjourns the meeting at 2:30 P.M. Following the meeting the district delegates were invited by chairiftan Frank Svarekopf to his home for dinner which was prepared by his wife. Joumal ___________________ December 10, 1947 DISTRICT 8/B. BEAVER FALLS, PA. MINUTES, taken at the meeting of Branch 39, representing District 8/B., held on November 9, 1947, in Beaver Falls, Pa. The meeting is called to order by chairman John Nemeth who calls upon the district recorder, who attended the National Convention as representative of District 8/B., to render a report on the proceedings of the Convention. Andrew Boiler, delegate to the National Convention, makes his report and, then, several members speak on the subject of sick benefits. The district recorder announces that copies of the amended by-laws had arrived on the previous day from the Home Office. He announces, further, that, according to instructions from the Home Office, the amendments to the By-laws must be either adopted or rejected as a whole, as acceptance in part only will not be considered valid. Copies of the Constitution and By-laws are distributed to be read by the members while the district recorder proceeds to read the text of the amendments. During the reading of the amendments several objections are raised and, then, the chairman puts the matter to a vote. The members attending the meeting object to many of the provisions of the amended by-laws, however, since the amendments also contain many art- _ vantageous provisions, they are unanimously approved by the meeting. Due to the advanced hour, the chairman thanks the members for their attendance and closes the meeting. JOHN NAMATH, chairman, ANDREW BÖLLER, recorder. DISTRICT I TARRYTOWN, N. Y. MINUTES, taken at the meeting of District 1, held in Tarrytown, N. Y., on November 23, 1917. Present are the following seven delegates representing six branches: Frank Benczkober from Branch 197, Louis Borszuk from branch 375, Pavd Takacs from Branch 188, Julius Nemeth and Joseph Jánosi from Branch 269, Paul Teleki from Branch 38 and William Rakaczky from Branch 424. Frank Benczkober, chairman of District 1., welcomes the delegates and calls upon delegate Louis Borszuk to render his report on the proceedings of the National Convention. Following the report, chairman puts the amendments to a vote and, thereupon, the actions taken by the ! XXI. National Convention are unanimously and in their entirety ap- I proved by the meeting of District 1. : The expenses of the meeting totalled $161.05. The meeting of District 7/B., representing1 Branch 20, was held on November 16th, at 1 P.M. Chairman Stephen Kish read the letter of Branch 64 and the letter of the National President. Then, the amendments adopted by the XXI. National Convention were read and unanimously approved by the membership. The expenses of the meeting totalled 817.40.
