JANUÁR 29, 193? 11-ik oldal MINUTES OF THE FIRST MEETING OF BRANCH 484. January 18, 1937. The organization and first meeting of the English speaking Branch 484 of the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association of Beaver Falls, Pa., was held on Sunday, January 17, 1937. Mr Joseph Vestroczy, President of Branch 39, opened the meeting at 2:30 P. M. At Mr. Vestroczy’s suggestion, all present, sang the Hungarian National Anthem. — After a fine speech by Mr. Ves­troczy, th^ regular business of the meeting was begun by elect­ing Mr. Joseph Sipocz temporary Chairman of the meeting and Mr. Charles Nemeth temporary Sec­retary. Nominations for President of; the Branch were made with the result that Mr. Joseph Sipocz and Mr. John Nemeth were nominat­ed. Mr. Gombos moved that the nominations be closed, Charles Nemeth seconded the motion. •— Nominations were then' made for Vice-President, the nominees be­ing Miss Ella Sipocz and Miss Helen E. Vestroczy. The motion was made to close the nomina­tions, the motion was seconded by Mr. M. Gombos and Charles Nemeth respectively. Following the nominations, a secret hallott ! was taken among the members. Results of the ballot gave Mr. Sipocz 9 and Mr. Nemeth 7 votes for the office of Branch Presid­ent. Miss Vestroczy was chosen Vice - President of the Branch, by a vote of 9 to 7 over Miss Si­pocz, When Mr. Charles Nemeth read the results, there ensued a stormy debate for Mr. Sipocz de­clined the Biranch Presidency.— Finally after much controversy, Mr. Nemeth having received the next highest number of votes, accepted the office of Branch President and Miss Vestroczy the Vice-Presidency. Nominations were then opened for the office of Branch Secre­tary. Mr. Charles Nemeth and Mr. Gombos were nominated. Mr. Charles Nemeth declined the nomination for Branch Secretary, Mr. Gombos automatically be­came Secretary of the Branch. ] due to the rejection of that Of­fice by Mr. Nemeth. The matter | of combining the Offices of Sec­retary and Treasurer at the Branch was then voted on by the members. By a vote of 9 to 7 the Secretary is to be designated as Secretary - Treas. at the Branch. After the elections, the Of­ficers were sworn in and the meeting was taken over by them, with Mr. John Nemeth as presid­ing officer. The Branch-President first requested that the minutes of the proceedings should be read which was done by Mr. Charles Nemeth. A motion of approval and acceptance of the minutes, made by Mi-. Joseph Sipocz, was carried. President Nemeth then suggested that we continue to hold our regular monthly meet­ings on the third (3rd) Sunday of each Month, at 2 P. M. in the basement of St. Ladislaus’ Hun­garian Church of Beaver Falls.. This was also approved. Nominations were then made : Ijerhovayok Jhpja ■ for Auditor-General. Mr. Charles ^ Nemeth seconded the nomination of Mr. Joseph Sipocz, made byj Mr. Gombos. Mr. Victor Gaido and Charles Nemeth closed the nominations. Mr. Sipotz was elected unanimously. Mr. Joseph Vekasy and Miss Ella Sipocz1 were then elected Branch Comp- ^ trollers. Branch President Nemeth, Br.' Vice-President, Miss Vestroczy] and Secretary-Tréasurer of the Branch, Mr. Gombos accepted the duties of sick visitors. Finally Mr. Eugene Vestroczy was elected Seargent-at-arms. After the business meeting, the monthly dues were collected. — j When this business was complet­ed, the President of Branch 39, j Mr. Vestroczy, presented fifteen ($15.00) dollars to the Treasury of-Branch 484, as a gift. Mr. Nemeth then agreed to secure the necessary tickets for a proposed raffle. When all the business of the Branch was completed, the mem-! bers all sang the National An­them of the United States, ac- ^ companied on the piano as be- ] fore, by Branch President,'Miss Vestroczy. Pennsylvania, hereby state that we have formed a new Branch of tin deservedly greatly acclaim­ed and nationally known \ erhovay. We are very hap­py to know that we are members of the great Ver­hovay. It is our sincere hope that we shall he able to ful­fill all that is expected of us. At the first meeting of the new Branch, held on Jan. 17, 1937. the Officers of the Branch were elected. For their fine support and many valuable suggestions,1 we are 'most thankfull to1 members of the Hungarian Branch 39 of Beaver Falls, and especially thankfull for the substantial support ac­corded the new Branch. We hereby express our thanks to every individual member of Branch 39. Especial mention is due Mr. Joseph Vestroczy, for it is through his untiring ef­forts on our behalf that we have been able to realize our dreams for an English speaking Branch in Beaver Falls. Contestants boys or girls must be from 16 to 34 years of age, they must be members of the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association or they may join NOW. Grand prizes will be given to the 15 young members securing the most points in the membership drive, according to the rules of the contest SHORT SUMMARY OF THE RULES OF THE CONTEST: 1. The eligible contestant may compete separately in both of the above described groups of prizes, ending May 31, 1937. In each group that contestant will be the winner who attained the highest number of points in securing new members, in strict accordance with the rules of the contest. 2. it is binding upon each contestant that he or she be a member of the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association or if not a member, that he or she should join now. 3. The members secured can be: senior or junior members who take out policies of from $250.00 to $5,000.00 values or Junior Order members who take out policies with a monthly premium of 15 or 20 cents. m 4. Only those NEW members can be included in the con­test who have paid their policy premiums or monthly dues for at least six months during and before the close of thé“ contest. 5. The computing of the results of the contest for secur­ing new members according to credits — is to be done in ac­cordance with the following tables: REGULAR INSURANCE (If monthly dues are paid six months) The securing of a $ 250.00 policy represents 500 points The securing of a $ 500.00 policy represents 1,000 points The securing of a $ 1,000.00 policy represents 2,000 points The securing of a $ 5,000.00 policy represents 10,000 points (If monthly dues are paid twelve months) The securing of a $ 250.00 policy represents 1,500 points The securing of a $ 500.00 policy represents 3,000 points The securing of a $ 1,000.00 policy represents 6,000 points The securing of a $ 5,000.00 policy represents 30,000 points (The amount of insurance falling between these amounts, will be credited to the contestant according to this table). IN THE JUNIOR ORDER (If the monthly dues are paid six months) With a 15c mo. premium, each new member represents 400 pt. With a 25c mo. premium, each new member represents 600 pt. (If the monthly dues are paid 12 month) With a 15c mo. premium, each new member represents 1200 pt. With a 25c mo. premium, each new member represents 2000 pt. 6. The closing time of the contest for securing new mem­bers is 12 o’clock noon, May 31, 1937. The prizes named, will be awarded by the Home Office of the Verhovay Fraternal Insur­ance Association. This decision is acknowledged as binding by all the contestants, upon their announcing their intention of taking part in the Contest. It is binding upon the contestants to use a steamship and railroad ticket, personally, by taking part in the Tour of Study. 7. In case of tie, each contestant wins a prize. Supreme Officers, employees of the Home Office. District Managers as well as the children of the above named, cannot take part in the Contest. 8. However, the members of the Branches, Secretaries and Officers can take part in the Contest. They can also take part in the Contest by backing one member of the Branch in their efforts to win in the Contest. 9. The publishing of the exact votes will be taken care of by the Home Office by publishing the list of the contestants names and their standing from time to time. 10. The forms and documents for the beginning of the securing of new members as well as the personal admission of the contestants can be obtained free of charge from any District Organizer, or Secretary of the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association or from the Home Office.
