called Béke Well. In the course of its continual extension, further shallow and children’s pools were added to the existing facilities, which were completed by the addition of a summer changing area. In 1956 a fifty-metre swimming pool was installed. In the early sixties a modern winter changing area was built, which was connected to the thermal pools by covered corridors. Since 1970, when a pipeline conveying the waters of Széchenyi to Dagály Baths was built and the latter joined the ranks of medicinal baths, medical services have been available here. To meet growing demands, a new, 25-metre, tent- roofed pool with a modern filtering system was installed in 1983. Following that the changing area was modernised. Medical, refreshing and underwater massage was added to the medical treatment provided in the thermal pool. Swimming instruction is also a popular service here. Dagály Baths, with its more than 78,000 square metres of park area lying in a picturesque natural setting, is popular all the year round. Its nine pools of various functions, sizes and temperatures cater for every generation seeking relaxation or physical exercise. The attractions of the baths include two saunas, a water-chute, which is very popular in the summer, together with various sports fields and playgrounds. Dagály’s waters, arriving from the Széchenyi Baths, are indicated for degenerative ailments of the joints as well as chronic and semi-acute inflammations. Dandár medicinal baths 5-7 Dandár utca, District IX The public baths in Dandár utca were built in 1930 and with their steam pools and tub baths worked as a hygienic baths until 1971. In 1971 the baths was closed for reconstruction. It reopened in March 1978, now as a medicinal baths. At first it was the waters of the Széchenyi, later those of Paskal Baths which were conveyed here. Later, when the observation well near Közraktár utca drilled as a gauging system within the so-called Eocene project was converted into a water-yielding well, the new well's water was conveyed via a long-distance pipeline to the baths in Dandár utca. In the thermal bath department, there are three pools of various temperatures, a Finnish-style sauna, while re49
