Pools of the thermal bath in Dandár freshing and medical massage and chiropody are also on offer. The bathing department is open to men, women and families wearing swimming costumes. In the tub bath de­partment underwater massage is also available on doctor’s orders. The medicinal bath is frequented mainly by the population of the neighbourhood. Its thermal water is identical to that of Gellért Baths and thus con­tains sodium alongside its calcium-magnesium-hydro-carbonic components. It is indicated for the degenerative ailments of the joints, chronic and semi-acute arthritis, protruded intervertebral discs and neuralgia. The iodine-saline medicinal baths in Pestszenterzsébet 2 Vízisport utca, District XX ln 1930, the township of Pestszenterzsébet had a large concrete pool built on the Danube bank, where today’s medicinal and lido baths are situated. The original baths included a free lido on the Danube and the concrete pool itself was filled with Danube water. In 1931 a test-drilling was made here, which, four me­tres down in the limestone soil, hit upon some richly sul­phurous water.
