Matits Ferenc: Protestant Churches - Our Budapest (Budapest, 2003)

■ The main facade o{ the church in the side walls that the interior is illuminated, but light pours in through the triangular skylights of the step roofing, too. The church has a seating capacity of 300, forty places of which are in the gallery. The gallery above the main entrance is accessible from the porch. It is also in the gallery that the three- manual electric organ made in the Johannus factory in Holland was placed. The designer of the church exploited the lie of the terrain and the building is positioned in such a way that coming from the east one gets to the ground floor, while arriving from the south, from Újlak utca, one reaches the porch of the church by way of four stairs. The tower, which is capped with a roof in Hungarian style, rises above the church on its east. The building was ceremonially consecrated by Bishop Dr. Lóránt Hegedűs on 2 July 2000, during the Fourth World Assembly of Hungarian Protestants. The church is frequently used as the venue of organ concerts. 67
