Two special features of the building are the shooting gallery in the basement and the "response centre" (basement 2, from where the response units are deployed), both serving police-specific purposes. The latter is located in a heavily-insulated 1,300-square metre "box" sunk nine metres below ground level independently of the surrounding walls.
