97 and said that the committee, which prepared the Conference, had accomplished its task and finished its work since the conference was brought to its realisation. He therefore invited the members, to proceed to business and thus to institute the International Unitarian Conference. — The words of the bit.shop were received with cheers. , 2. The Rev. Charles Derzsi made a proposition that the Conference shall formally proceed to choose its officials. He proposed for presidents from Hungary M. Gabriel Daniel audthe Right. Rev. Joseph Ferencz ; from England the Rev. Enfield H. Dowson; from America the Rev. Theodore C. Williams. He proposod for secretaries: from Hungary Prof. George Boros, from England the Rev. Lloyd Jones, from America dr. Frank Dyer Chester. — The proposition being unanimously accepted the election of the presidents and of the secretaries was carried 3. President Gabriel Daniel, in his opening paper, gave a historical survey ot the relations between the Hungarian and Foreign Unitarian bodies. — The same was received with general appreciation. 4. Secretary George Boros said that in response to the invitations sent out to Foreign Countries as well as to the various parts of Hungary, several answers were received, in which the Avriters expressed their sympathy with the aims of the Conference and extended their greetings. He then read some of the more important replies. — From the Secretary’s report it was learned with much pleasure that many liberal men in foreign countries have a deep regard not only for the Hungarian Unitarian Church but also for the Hungarian Nation. 5. Rev DenisPéterfi read a paper: „Essentials and non Essentials in Religion.“ The president said that since a short English abstract of this paper Avis already in the hands of the fo - reign delegates therefore no further explanation vas needed. —- The valuable and comprehensive paper ivas received with cheers and a vote of thanks was expressed. 7
