98 6. The Rev. Enfield Dowson read his paper : „The Condition and prospects of Unitarianism in England.“ — The president gave a short explenation of the Contents of the paper, which was read in the English language. He said, that he had no doubt that the en­thusiastic words of the Rev. gentleman made a deep impression even on those who could not understand their literal meaning. In addition he said, that the enthusiam of the orator, the favorable prospects of liberal ideas and of Unitarianism in England, must inspire us also. He pro­posed a vote of thanks for the impressive paper to the Rev. Mr. Dowson. — The Conference learned from the paper with the greatest interest and pleasure the lively activity which the Unitarians of England are now displaying and the fair prospects which encourage them. A vote of thanks to the Rev. E. Doivson teas unanimously carried. 7. Dr. G. Yance Smith read a paper in the German language: „The progress of religious thought and Bib­lical knowledge.“ The president did not consider it neces­­sery to go into the details of this interesting paper since most persons • present were able to understand it. He proposed a vote of thanks to Dr. Smith — The full appreciation and warm thanks of the conference to Dr. G. Vance Smith was uni­versally expressed. 8. Mr. Francis Kozma read apaper : „The importance of a minister’s Calling from Ecclesiastical social and na­tional points of view.“ Since the short contents of this paper were also in the hands of the English friends the president felt no need for further explanations. He pro­posed a vote of thanks. — The Conference expressed its unanimous acknowledgement and thanks to Mr. Francis Kozma for his paper which ably treated of the question. 9. President Joseph Ferencz, in conclusion, refered to the deep impression made by the adresses and papers and therefore he propesed that the publication of the mi­nutes of the Conference, as well as that of the speeches aud addresses be voted. — It was ordered that all the adresses, pa­pers aud speehes shall be published in the Him-
