As sweet Cupid on his day Shoots his arrow through the air.

February's quite a tease Pulling tricks from out of her bag, Tempting us with springtime's breeze Like a comic's clever gag.

Then she settles down once more In her dour mid-winter's role,

Oft appearing at our door As a poor defenseless soul.

Since her stay is not too long We must take her in our stride, Cheering with a merry song Until days are warm and mild.
