Fred often spoke of his military service in the Ma­rine Corp. to visitors Norma and Bill Albaugh. Dur­ing his conversation, he had mentioned he never fin­ished High School due to leaving for the service. The Valley School students recently raised $111.00 from selling lemonade for a community service project. The proceeds were to be donated to their favorite organization or charity. The students voted to donate the funds to the Resident Activity Fund. The proceeds will be used towards supplies for craft projects for our residents. "Thanks" to Mr. and Mrs. Albaugh who contacted Greensburg Salem High School and helped him to receive his High School Diploma, which was pre­sented to him by the principal on Tuesday, June 11. It was a proud moment for Fred and his family. Residents and staff joined in on the celebration ad­miring a photo of Fred in his younger days in uni­form along with his dress blues proudly displayed, Music was provided by Norma Albaugh. "Congratulations" Fred on receiving your diploma. "Many Thanks" to Norma and Bill Albaugh for the kindness, hard work and effort they put forth to make Fred's dream come true. For many years, the Valley School has maintained a friendship with our Bethlen Home residents and staff through the visits and projects they provide through­out the year. "Thank You" for your kindness and hard work you put forth into making "lemons into lemonade" for us! MEMORIAL THANK YOU'S Many "Thanks" to Mr. Elmer D. Fulesday for his re­cent donation to the Memorial Garden in memory of his wife Irene and friend Rev. Dr. George S. Csia. Your donation was used to purchase flowers for our garden that will bring many years of enjoyment to our residents and families. "Heartfelt Thanks" to the family and friends of former resident Betty Warner who recently made donations to The Activity Fund. "Thanks" to the California Highway Patrol who re­cently made a donation to The Activity Department in memory of former resident Betty Warner. Your kind­ness is greatly appreciated.
