Residents and families will be able to review the weekly events posted on the bulletin board located near each Nursing Station and the Activity Room. Schedules in the newsletter are subject to change, due to scheduling of programs being done several months in advance. For your convenience, a monthly calendar and a monthly in-house newsletter are posted in each resident's room. Families are welcome to attend our activities. Additional calendars are available through the Activity Department. JANUARY HIGHLIGHTS Tuesday, 1st: Happy New Year 2002 Everyone!!!! Join us for the Rose Bowl Parade and Coffee Hour in the Activity Room starting at 10:00 a.m. FEBRUARY HIGHLIGHTS Saturday, 2nd: Join us for Groundhog Bowling and a social in honor of Groundhog Day! Be sure to place your guess on whether or not Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow. What would New Year's Day be without football? Join us for an afternoon of football in the Activity Room starting at 1:30 p.m. Cheer on your favorite college team!!! Thursday, 3rd: Catholic Mass at 10:00 a.m. Resident Council at 1:30 p.m. in the Dining Room. VFW Bingo at 6:30 p.m. in the Dining Room. Tuesday, 8th: Learn a new craft this afternoon starting at 2:00 p.m. in the Activity Room. Monday, 4th: Be sure to vote for your favorite King and Queen of Hearts nominees throughout the week for the Valentine Party. Saturday, 9th: Be creative and make your sweetheart or friend a Valentine during Craft Class at 2:00 p.m. in the Activity Room. Join us for a variety of Valentine Activities starting Saturday the 9th through the 14th. Wednesday 9th - Friday, 11th: Removal of Christmas decorations. Residents who borrowed decorations for their room can return them to the Activity Department during these three days. Thursday, 17th: A special Chinese Luncheon will be held in the Solarium at 12:00 Noon. Watch for details on the event. Saturday, 19th: Join us for a cooking class at 1:30 p.m. in the Activity Room. Nothing better than homemade soup on a cold day! Sunday, 27th - February 2nd: Winter Olympics Week. Test your skills at winter games throughout the week. Thursday, 31st: January Birthday Party 2:00 p.m. in the Dining Room. Monday, 11th: Bring a friend to the Valentine Tea and Presidential Race Game starting at 3:00 p.m. in the Solarium. Tuesday, 12th: Lincoln's Birthday. Valentine Bingo will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the Dining Room. In honor of Abe Lincoln's birthday today, we will be making log cabins out of pretzels in Craft Class at 2:00 p.m. in the Activity Room. Wednesday, 13th: Ash Wednesday. A Sweetheart's Luncheon will be held in the Dining Room at 12:00 Noon honoring our King and Queen of Hearts Nominees. Thursday, 14th: Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! Join us for the crowning of the King and Queen of Hearts at 2:00 p.m. at the Valentine Party. Entertainment will be provided by the Blair Elton Band. Monday, 18th: What better way to celebrate Washington's Birthday then to have some type of cherry pastry during coffee hour at 10:00 a.m. in the Solarium. Join us for Presidential Bingo at 3:00 p.m. in the Dining Room. Thursday, 28th: February Birthday Party to be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Dining Room.
