HOLIDAY DO S AND DON'TS As the Holiday Season approaches, we encourage families to decorate their loved one's room for the occasion. Although the smell of pine and twinkling of lights may be nice to view, they are against State and Fire and Safety Regulations. Please help to keep our Home and residents safe by following these suggestions: 1. Live trees are not permitted no matter what size!! Families are encouraged to bring in artificial or ceramic trees for the residents to view. Lights are permitted to be on an artificial tree only. 2. Fresh pine, garland and wreaths are not permitted! This is a fire hazard. Artificial garland and wreaths are permitted to hang on resident's doors and windows, as long as the item does not block doorways and prevent the staff from opening and closing the doors and windows. 3. Extension cords are not permitted! Extension cords are not permitted in the Nursing Home. This is a State Regulation. There is no exception! 4. Hanging of Christmas lights, etc, are not permitted! No exceptions! 5. Spray Snow is not permitted on windows! Families wanting to decorate their loved one's window are encouraged to use the vinyl cling ons that can be purchased in a local department store in a variety of designs for all holiday seasons. They are very colorful and cheerful. 6. Pounding of nails in wall is not permitted. Anyone wanting to hang a special picture, etc., should contact the Housekeeping Supervisor. 7. Artificial pine spray and deodorizers are not permitted. Due to allergies and safety precautions, these items are not permitted. Thank you for your cooperation in helping to make this Holiday Season a safe one for our Home and residents. Anyone having any questions may contact the Nursing Home for details.
