Friends showered her with gifts and well wishes. One such gift was an Electric Jig Saw for her woodworking hobby. Many happy years of retirement, Doris. Your co-workers will miss you and your great sense of humor. ^ Exchanging of Vows: Kathleen Steele, who is our afternoon nurse, took the big step on February 20th and is now Mrs. Eric Smith. The newlyweds exchanged their vows at the Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship Church, and the reception followed at the Masonic Temple. She truly made a beautiful bride. Thanks for sharing your photos. Friends Forever: Residents David Nixon and Ethel Kozenko are keeping the friendship started when both were voted the King and Queen of Hearts on Valentine’s Day. Now the party continues at lunch and dinner in the Dining Room with a hand shake and a wink! Dancing Feet: Pam Worrell’s daughter, Julie Dawn, danced her way into competition at Cornell High School in Coraopolis, PA on April 23rd to the 25th. She was awarded a high Bronze medal in a Lyrical Dance Solo, and also received a Silver for a duo number and a Gold medal overall in “Country Girl”. Congratulations, we know you’ve worked hard and made your mom very proud! New Addition: The new little miss in the Biss family is Chelsea. Barbara and Glen and proud brother Gavin are one big happy family. Thanks for bringing Chelsea in and sharing your new little bundle of joy. JVcittritjj JHtgíjltgíjtg One of the most cherished things that happens in our life is making new friends. You can never have enough! No matter how many years may pass, when you see that special someone, it’s like time never existed. On August 2nd we will be celebrating FRIENDSHIP DAY. Tell your special friends how much they mean to you and how much they’re appreciated. Below is a poem by Craig E. Sathoff that speaks of friendship and the ways of being a good friend. I hope you enjoy it. The Countdown: Michelle Johnson hasasmileon herface because her man, a handsome Bill Lint, Military Police Sergeantat Fort Hood, Texas, will be home on leave June 17th for three weeks. The time can't come soon enough for Michelle, for Bill’s tour of duty comes to an end next year! He then will return to Ligonier. Our Resident Seamstress: Resident Marie Seiling, our favorite seamstress, is busy sewing in the Activity Department on her Singer Sewing Machine, which her son Gene delivered for her to sew all her projects on. Now Marie will be able to sew fancy and plain zig zag stitches. You can also find Marie giving a helping hand on the 13th of each month helping to set up and prepare for Catholic Mass. We appreciate you helping, Marie, and you do such a great job. THE WAY TO BE A FRIEND The way to be a friend is just To strive each day to be A firm believer in the strength Of human dignity. To teach each fellow man the way That you would like to be, With deep respect for each man’s worth And his integrity. The way to be a friend is just To keep a smiling face, To realize that laughter adds A special note of grace. The way to be a friend is just To give and give and give Of help and care and kindly words Each day that you shall live, To shun away each petty doubt And open up the heart, To let in thoughts of love and trust, Which is how friendships start.
