JRßötitent, jS>taff nnb JSoImtter Profiles by Resident Susan Wargo Robert Knox - Resident Robert is a new admission to the Bethlen Home. His wife's name is Claire and they have two daughters and seven grandchildren. Robert was born on September 17th and graduated in 1950 from the University of Pennsylvania. After grad­uation, he served four years in the Army in the Ordi­nance Division during World War II. During thattime, he was stationed in Germany, England and France. Robert is a retired Certified Public Accountant. He had his own private practice and dealt with corpora­tions as well. He enjoys reading and watching sports. We hope you enjoy your stay here with us. William Oliver - Resident William was born and raised in Pittsburgh. He lived most of his life in the Shadyside area. He comes from a family which started the Oliver Steel Industry, which is currently known as the Jones and Laughlin Plant. He is a 1924 graduate of Harvard University. During that time, he was involved with the steel industry. In 1950, he built a summer home in Ligonier and has been here ever since. He has served as a Trustee for the Carnegie Library in Pittsburgh for many years. He recently had a room dedicated in his honor. This room has a collection of over 1,600 rare books. This was always his first love. He also enjoys fishing and his favorite spot to fish was Montana. William celebrates his birthday on May 12th. He is looking forward to meeting new friends and living here at the Bethlen Home. Harvey Frasier - Volunteer Harvey started volunteering several months ago. He enjoys visiting one on one with the patients and help­ing with Bible Study Class. He also is very talented in the music department. He plays the organ for several churches as well as our residents’ Bible programs. Harvey is a retired Postal Clerk and is originally from Houston, Texas. He moved to Ligonier in 1992. His father was a minister and Harvey also followed his footsteps when he graduated from Bible College in Cleveland, Ohio. There he studied Theology, but de­cided not to take a church. He loves to do yard work, help people, and be of service to his community. His favorite food is Texas Chili. We hope you enjoy volunteering here at Bethlen, Harvey. SHE RECENTLY RECEIVED NOTICE THAT SHE PASSED HER EXAM THAT WAS TAKEN ON APRIL 24th.
