J^cthntçr JHtgljItgljtgí NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION VOLUNTEER CHRISTMAS PARTY Each year the Activity Department sponsors a Christmas Dinner Party for the Volunteers and residents who have worked so hard during the year to prepare for the Fall Bazaar fund raiser. This year, to make things simpler for the Activity Department, we decided to have the dinner catered to the facility. This was most convenient for the residents, not having to go out in the cold and having to worry about being out at night. This year’s affair was catered by Davoli’s. The first party was scheduled for December 15th. As you may recall, that was the day and weekend we had the 30 inches of snow. Davoli’s was kind enough to let us reschedule. The party was then scheduled in January during Russian Christmas. A total of 65 residents and volunteers attended. It was a fun evening for all. Door prizes were presented to several winners. What was also special that evening was that Reverend Paul and Edith Kovács were able to join us. This was the first time in seven years they were able to attend. They missed the previous parties due to being on vacation each year. Thanks again ... volunteers and residents, for making the evening special. RED CROSS BLOODMOBILE A SUCCESS Many “THANKS” to the staff, family members, etc. who participated in making this project a great success. Our set goal for donors was 30 people. Our sign up quota was reached. Nineteen out of 30 units were used. Some donors were turned down due to having high blood pressure, colds, sinus, etc. This was the first time the Bethlen Home ever sponsored the Red Cross Bloodmobile. The project was such a success we are looking forward to doing it again in the future. One of the main reasons we wanted to do this was due to the month of December being the most critical of months when blood donors are needed for hospitals, medical centers, etc. Thanks again for making this project a success. We will look forward to you signing up again in the future. What’s New Year’s Eve without champagne and Guy Lombardo!! Residents celebrated the coming New Year with entertainment, refreshments and a champagne toast for a healthy and happy new year. Pictured below are residents dressed in the New Year’s Eve attire.
