SctíWtp üjigfjlígfjts Family Support Group Continues Special "Thanks" to speaker Rita Boyonton who recently spoke at our November support group meeting on Alzheimers Disease. I'm sure a lot of questions were answered and families felt more at ease with this ever growing problem. The next support group meeting will be held on January 16th at 7 p.m. in the dining room. The topic will be on "Living Wills" and financial information. There will be a special speaker on this subject from one of the local community colleges. Families, friends and members of the community are welcome to attend. Also, it you have any suggestions on future subjects you would like more information on, please feel free to contact us. Adopt A Grandparent Programs During the last 9 years the Activity Department along with several local schools and churches and community groups have adopted several residents as their grandparents. The students are encouraged to write, send holiday cards and visit when they can. This year the Fort Allen Elementary School along with Ligonier Valley Junior High adopted residents once again. The residents recently went on an outing to visit the students in their classrooms and have breakfast with them at the Fort Allen Elementary School in Greensburg, Pa. The students as well as the residents were very excited for meeting the first time. Special Thanksgiving stories and songs were provided by the students during the resident's breakfast. The residents also received a lot of beautiful gifts from their adopted classroom. To top off the day, the residents enjoyed a special luncheon outing at a local restaurant. We will be looking forward to their visit to Bethlen Home in the future. ©eepest Sympatic The staff of Bethlen Home extends its deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the following former residents.
